Did a search but didn't really find what I'm lookin for. Lookin' for ideas, sort of like what they put on old war planes. Pin ups might be cool, too. Any body got any good ones?

Hey Don, that's pretty amazing that you've got the actual old photos of some of the exact same airplane parts I saw in Midland... I wonder if those were Tx based planes/crews?
I love nose art. I'm suprised the CAF let you take pics of the panels. It was ok with no flash I guess? Awesome. My jacket... I designed it, then Barnett painted...
Don, Have you ever thought about sending these to a museum? I looked a long time online and some (if not all until this thread) of those I did not see. here are some of my favorites I saved: http://www.acepilots.com/planes/nose_art.html http://www.40thbombgroup.org/Creager.html http://www.303rdbg.com/ground-nose.html http://www.nose-art.net/ http://northstargallery.com/Aircraft/sensualilty.html some wild stories of in-mission action here! guys had some serious balls! http://www.b24.net/stories/annette.htm
Google "Varga" THE pin up man from WWII. I think there are some nose art books as well. Try AMAZON(?) Hey Django, ever notice how you and I reply to all the aviation threads?
google VARGAS, it'll take waaay too long to find him under his birth name, varga. ...and i agree, he is THE man!
Ya know, I thought it was the other way. Oh well 50/50 shot. The "Memphis Belle" stole my heart. Theres also a guy named Tony Starser, I think, who painted ALOT of famous planes.
I've got a bunch somewhere that I took in Harlingen TX (old home of the CAF) in '83 If I can find 'em I'll post them on the weekend
now THERE'S a sure fire way to turn the tide of imports vs. american iron sales if the ford, chrysler, gm guys were to put THIS air bag in their cars
