  2. I'm not a banger guy, but that oil pump is a 1949-53 flathead V8 oil pump that has been reworked/converted to fit your engine. On the distributor, might as well find one that has a mechanical advance mechanism inside of it . . . no reason to run a locked down system.

Hey @2FORCEFULL, your 34 looks awfully familiar. . . . Did it go to Massachusetts by chance? 20220910_104733.jpg
    I'm pretty sure it did

yes sir....I went to the doc about 12 years ago... he said I had about 6-8 months to live, and needed to get my affairs in order...while at the hospital, I did an out of body and went to the white room,...when I got home I sold off all my car collection and boats... then decided I wasn't going out that easy...didn't smoke, drink, or gamble...so started going to the bar while I was putting X's on the Calander...now I smoke drink and gamble....lol but didn't die... so a few years ago my wife says.... why don't you buy an old car to fix to give you something else to do....God has always had different plans for me....

wonder if he still has the hood??? kinda looks cool without it as you don't notice how much stretch was done to get the hemi in there

so now the newest problem..... I use marvel mystery oil on everything.....the banger has a new fiber cam gear...it started throwing the teeth off.... the only thing I can think is the marvel attacked the fiber and started disolving it..??????? the fiber gear is some kind of resin???

So.... it running was short lived and started having timing issues...so I pulled the timing cover and sure enough.... teeth were missing off the gear.... so apart it came...

so while working on the cam gear I decided it was time to install the new aluminum head..... might as well make it as big of a project possible..... right???I forgot what the guy I got the head from said... but seems like he said there needs to be .30 clearance when the piston is top dead center... well, the pistons stick up a few thousands... so now the head might not work.... also the pistons are stamped 125 on the them,... so might be why this motor runs so strong compaired to stock????

I decided to sell my not-a-ford 32 roadster...I could no longer live with the front axel being gone on a hi-boy roadster.. why they choose the IFS instead of a drop axel with socal finned brake drums is beyond me... but I hated the car so down the road it went....I took a trade in......now what to do with it....... I have a 7:1 Lion Speed head on my avatar. It changed my coupe from a putt-putt car to a get up and go car.

so now i'm at the cross roads.....the 29 is nothing short of a turd to drive.... starts easy, ... rides , stops, steers , and runs like a turd...

truck has good value, and is a survivor from 1929.... seems a shame to change it.... but , I keep thinking I want to hot rod it.... these rust free trucks that are OG are getting harder and harder to come by,..., when i was younger they were lucky to fetch 2k... now nice ones are over 20k...

i'd like tohave a flat head v8 with up graded chassis, beings that I'm 70, things have to get done way quicker.... or I might not get to see it done... so question, what to do?????pull the body off and order a new updated chassis??? hot rod the chassis with more power and do juice brakes and such..... or just sell it and buy/ trade for a hotrod????

I think when they built my motor for the 31 they decked the block, milled the head and upped the compression... it has twice the power as a stock model a... it's a b motor , the pistons are above the block deck height, so might not be able to use the head.... gotta resurch it a little more....
