The fender to cowl bolts and the core support, think that's it Andy. Plus the hood.

New tailpan and rear trunk section in the '55. The ass rusts out of these cars. The pan and bracing carries the rear body mounts. The cars feel "soggy" driving from the flexing. 20230330_083633.jpg 20230519_143157.jpg 20230523_144752.jpg 20230523_160347.jpg 20230523_173251.jpg

B post and roof line suggest a 300 series Nova. It’s the lack of the body line on front fender that has me wondering???

Traded Cheerio boxes and scissors (you remember, paper dolls) for plate steel and a couple of angle grinders with cut off wheel and flapper disc. I mean this CAD Table thing is just over rated fella’s. 80DFB195-12AF-49B0-8177-BA6170620543.jpeg

Ran into an issue recently coming home in my '39 Chev. Suddenly got coolant spray on my windshield, so being close to home I made it into the driveway. I shut it off, and looked under the car to see coolant dripping pretty steady off the lower radiator hose! Pulled the glass hood off, and looking from the top I noticed a cut in the lower hose near the radiator clamp! I removed the fan belt, and spun the fan to see it was hitting the hose. Grabbed the blades and tried to look for play, but it was solid. So looked at my motor mounts and saw both mounts had a crack in the inside frame rails above the frame mounts!
So yesterday I pulled the fenderwell headers to get room, and jacked the engine up to close the cracks. I ground the paint off, and mig welded the cracks. Then cut up 3.5"x6" plates to slide over the 2" box tubing, to plate the frame. Drilled holes to plug weld the plates, then welded them to the box tubing, and around the perimeter also. As a final extra support I made up another flat bar plate that I welded on the top of the frame rails, and to the top of the box motor mount brackets, so they'd be supported on the vertical, and horizontal planes. Maybe a bit of overkill, but after 6 hrs. of repair work, I didn't want to ever have to redo this again!

Finished the trunk latch, many thanks to HAMBer @rbrewer for giving me the '56 trunk lid years ago! Welded the emblem holes to make it a '55. Then on to the dash, HAMBer @pigIRON63 provided the dash repair section from one of his treasures. Thanks, guys!
