Customs Panel striping on my Corvette

One thing I learned early on here is you have to have a THICK skin. I think everyone one on here needs to realize that posting on a worldwide site leaves them open to comments (good or bad), that's just the result of putting yourself out there on a faceless platform. You only need to look for the comments of people you respect, people can't just move on from something they don't like (it's the world we live in now).

Anyhow back to the topic at hand.....

I personally really like it, I think it really enhances the car in all it subtleness.

I figured it best to respond to the haters. You want pictures, I'll give you something to look at.

First off, here's the cars that are on topic, mostly.




That's right, two on the go and more in the fleet.
Including two off topic corvettes, two 66 chevelles, a boogie van and a 4x4 truck. One quad, a couple of motorcycles, full welding equipment and automotive tools that most wish they had.

So, can I share a opinion now?

Those stripes did nothing to make the vette better in my opinion. But who cares. Maybe the guy with hurt feeling and bad taste.


I like most have bigger concerns to worry about. As far as hurt feelings, get over it.

With all due respect, you being super moderator and all, your a cry baby with hurt feelings.


Accepting you didn't ask for who did and didn't like it, you posted it for us to see, and in doing that you must have known being the smart guy you are that it would generate either comments from the ass kissers who don't wish to offend you saying they like it, or you were seeking approval from those who maybe did, all the while expecting those that thought it sucked were not to say anything lest they offend you, the silence then offering a silent approval which we didn't agree to doing in a public forum.

Secondly, while not confronting you with our opinions at the risk of hurting your feelings, we then are left to silently conform to be accepted or risk being called out as you have done it seems, us with no respect and bad manners. You have showed us your better side all right. Who's the hater.

Finally, calling us haters because we chose to disagree. Well I didn't get the vaxination. And your stripes suck. So who's laughing now.

Now, to those of you who liked the stripes, go ahead and do your ride. Sure, It's going to catch on I'm 100% sure it's the new custom trend for 2023.
Just like in 1975.

Mark, you got me wondering if my '60 could pull this off too. Maybe I need to stop by the paint store and pick up a few rolls of fine-line tape.
As for the negative comments, most people don't understand the early 60's style customs. It is an acquired taste.

I think the car looks rad. But this is definitely not the first time people have hated on stuff around here. I mean come on mark, you had to know some guys were gonna bite back, lol. It's a vette, and to a lot of guys they're not to be messed with. Most of us get what you're doing with it and dig it. Let the rest roll off the back baby!

What would happen if you walked up to new parents and said "Damn, your babies ugly." or some ones wife and said "Sheesh! your wife's a cow" You would probably get your teeth knocked out. Same thing here. I think things are said on the internet that would never be said in person because of the anonymity of being behind the screen.

i don't know, i think when you post photos of your car on the hamb, you're inviting comments, whether they be praise or criticism. you can't please everyone and if you can't live with a few rotten eggs in the bunch, maybe think twice about posting. you should be proud that the vast majority like it.
