It appears Weiand superchargers have been discontinued.

I messaged Holley's store on eBay asking when a part would be back in stock and received this message:

    New message from: holleyperformance (62,450[IMG])

It won't be. The Weiand supercharges have been discontinued.

    Thanks

Does anyone know the skinny on why Weiand blowers are being discontinued?

Did the LS platform and turbo kill the roots blower?

If that's true looks like those old GMC cores are going to get valuable.....I prefer them anyway due to the triple lobe rotors....I do hate to see the blower drive parts go away....Always used their drives....

With all the proposed legislation regarding modifications (and stripping us of the right to make them), I think they, as well as many others, are proactively slimming down and eliminating products that they soon might be unable to sell to us. I won't lie; I have seen this coming for some time.

Holley is a mess. So dam busy buying different companies and trying to dominate the performance market they forgot proper management techniques.

To be honest Weiand superchargers are basically street show off pieces, anyone serious about making power is going to buy a blower from a blower specific supplier. Then you have a large number of buyers that are only concerned with cost, so they buy cheap overseas knockoffs then complain about things not fitting or working right.
Weiand was an entry level piece that has been undercut price wise with Chinese junk, so they kinda lost there nitch market.

  10. Holley is killing the hobby. Buying up all the different brands of products and then severely cutting down the product line and jacking up the prices or discontinuing it all together. Thanks Holley, really appreciate it

The only recently manufactured dual quad intake for the early 331-354-392 Hemi was the Weiand intake. Holley bought Weiand and killed off the Hemi dual quad Weiand intake. Now you can't buy a dual quad intake for an early Hemi except for used pieces. Nice job, Holley. Holley is the performance industry manufacturer that seems intent on slowly killing off the performance industry.

It would be interesting to see the numbers of units sold in the last 24 months.

Sad. Seems like once Holley bought them, no Q.C., made outside the U.S., Mexico? and still charge a premium price. Also wouldn't sell parts or service anything. Had a few Weiand superchargers and parts in the last decade, most with issues. A 144 case that had a step in the center of the bores like it had been cut half way from opposite ends along with a incompletely machined intake that had every machined surface gone over with a wizz wheel to blend it and all stapled shut from the factory in the original box new from Jegs.

Another 144 my buddy got in basically new condition off Ebay that once he received it noticed rings cut about 8 to 10 thou deep in the rear bearing plate from the assembler leaving all the strips proud at the rear of the rotors and assembling without trimming which was ran on the car without the P.O. noticing. Also just recently bought two new 6-71 intakes where one had the runners almost 1/8" high on one side and the opposite on the other. Had to eat it since it was an Ebay purchase. Bought a replacement from Speedway and it looked good but still had every machined surface gone over with an abrasive pad just like the 144 intake.

Hope I'm not derailing this thread but does anybody know what the story is with Dyers? Was one of my favorite companies to deal with but seems like the building was for sale after the whole pandemic thing and the son may be doing CNC stuff in AZ now? Did it change hands, same quality? Website just recently started showing some activity and stated they are open.

  21. Holley does have some decent deals on some items

    Idler pulley brackets for $80

Sideways blower carb linkage for $114 bought that

3 inch idler pulley with standoff and T nut for $80 I'm waiting on that one

Once a good company is bought up by an investment group everything always goes to shit, I cannot think of one instance where the outcome has been positive! The bean counters don't give an damn about the Company's history or Hot Rodders, Racers or car guys in general, it's all about profit!

Kind of reminds me when Super Shops was buying up a bunch of manufacturers. Where are they now? Should have stayed San Bernardino Racing and stuck to being a speed shop and not focused on wheels and tires and other assorted bolt on bling sales. JMO

    Nope.

New legislation cannot be back-dated to vehicles that were not required to meet specific standards at the date-of-manufacture.

This does not apply to any HAMB-era vehicle, with the possible exception of needing to install and maintain a PCV valve on California vehicles, in the last of the HAMB-era years.

They are killing off products that are not selling.

    We already had our moment-in-the-sun.

    Our time has passed.

Not in the least. The hobby has moved on.

    We have not.

Nobody has asked me to build anything but an LS, or Coyote based vehicle in about 9-years.

Us not buying in large enough numbers is causing products we like to be culled.

And there it is. The market is shrinking. No point in spending money producing products few are buying.
