Hi all, having a brake issue and am out of ideas. The car pulls hard left when applied. New brake cylinders, shoes, hoses. master cylinder and good drums. Loosend left brake adj. all the way still pulls left, does not do it in reverse if that helps. Totally out of ideas.
Did you get grease on the shoes. Even a greasy fingerprint can cause issues. Did you replace the return springs?
I'd assume its the same with drums as it is with disc brakes. How do the bearings look? A loose bearing causing pulling under braking, possibly?
Pulling hard left probably means the right brake isn't functioning properly. The left one is working good. I'd be inspecting the right brake. Do the shoes fit the drums well? They should hit in the middle of the shoe with a few thousands of clearance at each end. Are the drums in good shape or at least in about the same shape?
I would pull both front wheels, and have someone lightly depress the pedal while you check the right drum, it should start out with a light drag and get harder to turn as the pedal is depressed. Since you replaced all at the wheel, the brake line could be kinked or plugged going to the right.
Have you checked all suspension components and made sure everything is right and tight? Did the problem exist before you did the brakes? Not familiar with the front-end setup on these but if something is loose or worn, braking can let things move around and "steer" the car. Don't forget the rear suspension, same thing applies.
