A Monogram model brought out in the 50's/early 60's. One of the FIRST model cars I ever ***embled(started with airplanes). This is the model that started it all for me. (6 carbs on a hemi...what's not to love!?) 6sally6 PS....aren't you guys proud...I didn't copy the picture before I made my post ! Yeah-me.......
why do all the drag racing threads always turn into dragster threads? their are a lot of other cars that drag race.
Never got involved with Comp Coupes -- but was there ever something, like a percentage, that you had to include in the body to still be a coupe? The above one could change to Dragster in less than 5 minutes. I guess if you ran in some Middle Eliminator group that ran against records for dial-in (which we never did) there would be advantages for this confligeration.
You got it. Plus, some of those cars could run in a local T/F show for bigger bucks, and shed the body for a slight performance gain. There was a local drag racer (shucks!, I've forgotten his name) who ran a rear engined roadster (a la Speed Sport roadster) with a blown, injected, nitro hemi who often qualified for a Top Fuel show too.
