    Today's haul, a '54 Chevy grille from a local junkyard and some advertising pieces from a local hardware store/implement dealer that's closed and getting torn down. Really cool old building but in really rough shape, there's going to be a few more auctions there with some great stuff coming up, I'll be watching.

    This was free so I took it even though I have no idea what it is. Do you? It was going in the trash otherwise.

    Just a hunch but it looks like it could be a 1950’s industrial version of the clamp for an articulated desk or bench lamp.

    I appreciate the input, but I'm wondering if it was used to press a pattern
    in something small. Also, it looks like it's meant to slip down over some sort
    of base or rail.

  9. From today’s swap meet. My favourite is the brass crib tags at the bottom from two different Ford plants. The vice is a Henry. 9FBAD19F-7D65-40B8-AE19-B0B99BA01198.jpeg

    Alex , the clamp would slip over the edge of a table or bench . Then a lamp base or fixture would slip over the lug with the hole in it

    But you did notice the machined pattern and and the pointed end that pushes something toward that pattern, correct. By the way, that "lug", for some reason, is removable. I thought a machinist might
    immediately pop up with an answer. One of those mysteries, I guess. I appreciate the comment.

    I won this on BAT last month;

    It was used to stage a house - runs, drives and just looks SO cool to me.

    More from the local hardware store/general store deal. Had to have the Oscar Mayer thing just because it's meat-related, the big shelf was $2 and came with something else I wanted, had planned to just scrap it but it's awfully nice, might have to find a use for it. The rest is pretty obvious. I especially like the "Metco" wrenches rack, now I just have to find a Snep-On one and a Mec one to go with it.

    Well.... I went to the local transfer station (dump) today. As I was leaving, I saw an old seat sitting by the scrap metal bin. I stopped the truck and walked over to it. Yep, just what I thought 55 Chevy Split back. I loaded it up and brought it home. It's very solid once I removed the old upolstery. Holy shit! Guys who aren't into 55-57 Chevys probably won't understand what an extreme score this is, that is a fantastic find.

    Just picked this up today. The fuel hose isn't fuel injection rated but it isn't all dried out. The heater hose should be fine as should the vacuum hose. But for 30 bucks I couldn't pass it up. Hose1.jpg Hose2.jpg

  27. No way. This is for collectors and admirers of all kinds of stuff that would be deleted in the main forum. When you think about it, car related stuff could be off topic. ;)
    When my kids were young we used to go looking for antler sheds. My daughter was a pro at it. She found most of these.

We swung through a little town with a HUGE resale/junk/antique barn. We were kind of in a hurry as they were closing soon. You could spend the whole day there, seriously. So grabbed a couple things that caught my eye.
    The oil bottle I can pretty much guarantee has a non original bottle with the spout, but I do see bottles without the spouts pretty often. I have a nice original carrier to put it in too. Now I need 7 more. :)
