Looking for traditional hot rod shows in the Minneapolis metro area this summer. Last one I was aware of was billetproof at memory lanes in 2013. Please post any info you have.

  2. You might ask @Moriarity about that. He’s a Minnesota resident.

  5. Yup, just walk past the 10K ugly street rods to get to the cars you like

Not all street rods, lots of 50's,customs,orphans. Still I think there is to much billet, monster wheels, rat rods etc. Also too much lawn chair parking. Was a lot more fun like 20 years ago. Too many spectators but a variety of vehicles to look at.

Just enjoy back to the fifties for what it is. A super cool event and soak up the atmosphere . The non HAMB cars are minimal when there are 12000 cars there. Sure the organisers have strange selective ideals that can be very misguided ,and have very clouded visions of what is period correct . Just ask @Moriarity . But all that aside its a worthwhile event to check out.

Yeah, I am the wrong guy to ask about BTT50's . I was thrown out of there more than 20 years ago and I refuse to go back.... From the pictures I see it is a sea of giant wheeled street rods and stock 4 door 60's cars... you know, nothing screams back to the fifties like a rusty 63 corvair 4 door.....

There are plenty of Hamb friendly cars there, you just have to walk by the other ones. And Mark I think you should give it another chance. Don't let one power hungry, uninformed gate person ruin it for you for life.

I haven't been in at least 25 years, though I've never had the honor of being thrown out. Yogi Berra was right.

  13. It was a ****ed up deal perpetrated my an ignorant volunteer.

There are a lot of cool cars that fit my tastes, but waay too much stereotypical gold chainer type cars and at***udes slathered in annoying 50s and 60s do wop. I may be back but since my son is an elite ball player our summers are tied up with that for a few more summers
