Hello, Yes, the majority of those photos are taken in the Los Angeles-Santa Monica South Bay region. Since our family has been on that major road, visited all of those beach side cities and in the late 50s-early 60s surfed most of those waves, they are nice. And, it is a wonderful area to visit. We have to thank our dad for being the traveler as he was. In a 1949 Buick Roadmaster with tons of room for the two brothers in the back, we went up that coastline many times to Santa Barbara and a little town called Guadaloupe to visit some of his friends. (There was a fantastic steak house in that little town and in 1967-68, my wife and i stopped a couple of times, too...)The Getty photos depict a great look at the times and locations. But, despite being Getty images, not all are in that region. Jnaki It is fun to see what it looked like with a larger camera negative for clarity and composition. But, rememher, someone had to categorize digitally, all of those old files. Most are excellent representations of the old history of the region. YRMV
WOW…. Ohio state police had class in ’57. Divining around in a ’57 Ford convertible , wonder why they didn’t have white wall tires on it also.
