Not actually today but last week my son came home for a couple days and help me blow the dragster apart. Had it sandblasted Saturday, primed it on Sunday, and painted it today. Now I just have to put this puzzle back together.

Notice there's no black overspray on the floor and I didn't have anything under the chassis when I painted it. I used an electrostatic paint system that I've had for years. I think it's something like 98 or 99% efficient. I only used about 1 1/2 pints each of primer and paint.

I'm going to give it at least a couple days for the paint to cure and will then start reassembly.

    Lynn

Not much other than spending way to much time over thinking that everything is wrong and then coming to the conclusion that ya know I think I can make it work.

Ready to play musical cars, need my carport to do some F100 stuff, shop's full of '27 T's.
Daily driven exotics are cluttering up carport, so driveway #2 it is for them, with their respective car covers.

  8. Pulled the sewing machine out and stitched up some windlace for our '47. Another small step; too many distractions.

  10. Started back up on building a fan shroud for my '35. Interesting to find the parts I did a year or two ago don't match the sketches I made when I started the project; guess a plan B must have taken over. Don't look like much now, next step is getting the big hole in the right spot, will get that tomorrow.

  14. My kid came over last night and helped with the fan shroud. Flat black paint so the ugly thing doesn't show to much. Sure helped to have a young guy around to do the getting up and down from under the car. Temp stayed down pretty good while he was playing with the carb and timing. Battery was on it's last legs, so he picked one from his "battery guy" and we put it in this morning. Going to install an overflow tank tomorrow and then see how it works on the road with the hood closed.

Today-well at the weekend I raced my Coupe powered by a 4banger at Pendine Sands 2nd in class at 70.5 mph and my missus was 3rd in class just behind me ,only beaten by a well established car owned by the organiser .....not bad for a 9 month build

Harvested some brackets from a donor housing for a future 12 Bolt install in my 62 Biscayne. No action shots, my assistant was busy and I was try to not light myself on fire IMG_5379.jpg IMG_5380.jpg

  27. Overflow finally showed up; made some brackets and hung it on the shroud. Filled the radiator to the top along with new tank. Fired it up and it took quite a bit longer than pre-shroud to hit 180 sitting in the driveway, took a ride and temp dropped down on highway as before, so that part is good. Drove around side streets for a bit and temp stayed ok. Pulled back in the drive and let it run and the anti-freeze finally expanded enough to dump out the overflow. Will have to check the level when it cools down to see if it worked right. Never had a recovery tank on a hot rod before so new to me.
Need to make it black at some point.
