All, I am needing some help deciding on heads and possibly a different cam for my 400sbc. This was a healthy rebuild that has less than 10’000 miles on it. Problem is it’s been on an engine stand for 10+yrs and hasn’t been running in a vehicle for probably 20yrs. What little I know of the motor is it’s bored .040 over and had a decent cam in it, the heads are stock, with an edelbrock performer intake. Goals are to wake it up some with a good set of heads, possibly a matching cam, and carb cfm recommendations. I wish I knew more on the specs of the current camshaft that is in it but I just don’t. I know it had a healthy lope to it at idle and great low end torque but that’s all I know on it. Hope y’all can offer some great advice! TIA!
more info is needed but you will not go wrong with 200 ,, cam in .540 lift plus with hydraulic roller, Solid roller on street Need good lifters in $800 plus (good $1,600) range & really same applies to hydraulic rollers
