What does this go to? Date? 8 inches across the lens. Fog light? Truck?

Take a shot looking directly at the top of the bezel housing, straight on.
When you post it, hit the large button, it makes easier to try to identify!
    Thanks from Dennis.

The design with that rocketeer looking top piece says Electroline to me, but I'd unscrew that part and see if the housing is stamped with anything underneath. The housing looks like a Unity but that top piece is much bigger and fancier than any of the Unity top pieces I've seen before. There was another company called S&M that made similar fog lights, hard to tell them apart.

sealed beam is 39& up, flat back is about the same era. Look close, they are almost always marked with some brand

  5. Way too big for a hot rod anyway!

Looks like an Autolamp 430, as seen on the Eddie Dye roadster.

  7. Are they 8" across the lens? They don't seem to be. 8" is pretty big.

    (I'm talking about lights!)

Was thinking the same thing, I’ve “heard” of guys building a car around a radiator cap, if a fella had a pair, I bet it would be a dream come true for some!

    Hey @J.Ukrop
Looking at the thread " Eddie Dye roadster the TRJ shoot"
It appears you are onto something. When I zoomed in on those headlights, it sure does look like the cool "Mohawk" crown bezel that @old skool posted!
Now I know what to look for at future swap meets!

  12. It is indeed an Autolamp 430. I sold 3 of them about 5 years ago at Fall Carlisle. I still have 2, bare, brass headlight buckets that are Autolamp 430's.

Well, 8 inches across the entire front. The lens is a little smaller

Thanks for the reply everyone. I meant it's 8 inches across the front where the lens is. The glass lens itself is about 6.5 inches. It was in my dad's attic, I really liked the look, but I only have one. Looking for another one. I went over it head to toe but couldn't find any markings. If anyone has one they want to sell, shoot me a pm.

  16. Ah, well that makes a LOT of difference.
When you said 8" across the lens I assumed you meant the glass part...in which case too big for a hot rod. As it turns out they are in fact much smaller and good for a hot rod. Phew!

    Sealed beams are usually 7"

I did remove the top piece a couple of days ago thinking some markings might be underneath it, but nothing there too.
