Features Corvette hot rods - picture thread

If you look closely, it seems that right lower corner of fibergl*** is gone like he already made contact and is about to do it again!! LOL

 

I'm guessing that "scratch" was from an earlier run that day. This would have been another p***, just to make sure that there was really a problem? Sometimes, we drag racers need an extra dose of confirmation before we admit that something is wrong.

 

Also, above right headlight, fibergl*** appears all cracked up.

My midyear is a 'day two hotrod'. Not even posting a pic here, these Corvettes are wild, I can't compete!

The hood on this car was on my 57 when it had a blower motor in it. The owner Oran Hayes has owned the car since the early 70’s. It was a beater when i worked in his bike shop as a kid. I introduced my boss to my Dad since they had the same vettes. Both cars where rebuilt and back on the road in the mid 80’s. This one eventually became a full time race car.

Kirby Wallace from Trenton, Michigan. Probably most, if not all, of the trophies are from Detroit Dragway as Trenton is about 1/2 mile from Detroit Dragway.

I don't know. I last saw Kirby at a Cruise Night about 6 years ago and he was driving a daily driver. Didn't think to ask him about the Vette
