OK, I need some help from the pros. I just put our rebuild SBF 302 into our 1932 Ford Model A the chassis. It had the following: - Performer 289 Intake - 1403 Edelbrock Carburetor - Manual Fuel Pump To accommodate the (new) Vega power steering box, I had to remove the Manual Fuel Pump, and Oil Sending Unit. What are the best options for both Oil Filter Relocation Kit and Electric Fuel Pump. Many Thanks
There is a short oil filter available for these motors, but it still might not fit. I've heard them called police or interceptor filters, but don't have any part numbers for you.
This is your best answer to your oil filter problem. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-g4985-1 The pressure sending unit should still fit either mechanical gauge or electric.
I don't know about the original posters car but the picture I sent is of a Model A coupe on a 32 frame
@wheeltramp brian, is there enough clearance to remove the filter or do you have to raise the engine? I suppose you could shorten the threaded insert from the block but the picture leaves that image of having to raise the engine due to the proximity of the frame for future maintenance. If it sits low enough in the frame it could just be an anomaly but you are sure to have a mess on top of the steering box every maintenance cycle.
There's plenty of room to take the filter off. In the last picture it's on the last thread and there's still plenty of room
