The signs you guys...the neon signs...looks like they got pulled over in a bad area!
Actually this is a question regarding the early Chrysler semi auto...ever seen one in a Hot Rod??? Would one have to be on one or the other aforementioned substances to use one?? Pics or explanations - thanks

Do you know who those two are? They turned out just fine, as hot rodders go.

    No...
Don't tell me they were actually running a semi -auto...

  7. I remember driving one of those slushboxes way back in the late 50s. My recollection is vague but I'm pretty sure that I was under-impressed. The takeoff from a standing start was rather mild and the antithesis of anything to do with "hot rodding". There is probably a good reason that manual transmissions were automatically the go-to in every hot rod of the day. (Pun intended.) I guess some of those transmissions may have been put in because they came with an engine and that's all the youngster rod builder had. But they were only used long enough to drive the shortest distance to get the closest manual trans available.

In a 4,500 pound Limo type ride? or in a little rod that weighs 1,200 pounds on the front and 300 on the rear? ....I bet it would at least light the tires if ya popped that clutch....for road trips you have that top end overdrive

Must be a hell for Boring day in BC to come up with that. I just remember seeing that photo long before the internet came about or probably wasn't even thought about.

well you had a look... even though you had nothing on the M6;) speaking of the internet it's very difficult to find anywhere to discuss old engines with old transmission in old cars these days...shouldve wrote turbo 350 or 5 spd otherwise you get crickets:rolleyes:

There used to be a drugstore in Green River, Wyo, may still be there. Anyway, they featured guns, drugs, and liquor, all in the same store, right next to a strip joint.

That actually inspires me .... we have guns for sale at the local hardware store .... Drugs across the street.
Maybe I should start a strip club in our small town .... give me something to do in my retired life.

  19. That photo brings back memories. I can recall when police officers didn't wear body armor and carry automatic weapons....ah, the good old days of peace and harmony.
