I just saw this one pop up locally on FB marketplace for 5K. How can you not like it? The seller says it was a special made from a Microplas Mistral body on a 1960 Chrysler Imperial chassis with an 8-3/4 Chrysler rear & a manual trans. Whenever you think you've seen it all....

No offense intended but I've had more than my fill of the all mighty Cobra. Drag car, sports racer, it doesn't matter. The only Cobras that now grab my attention are the lowly (?) 260 and 289 powered
roadsters without mile wide fenders and sewer pipe size side exhaust. That being said, I dig this photo and the car pictured.

What you're describing is just a "sports car." This is a thread about "hot rod sports cars."

This thread has had more than its share of stock Cobras, which aren't "hot rod sports cars," but seemed to pass without comment. What Alex is describing is 427 fatigue. When Factory Five alone produces about as many kits each year as Shelby American ever did, it isn't surprising that 427 fatigue sets in. If you look at the drag Cobras in the last 20 posts or so, most aren't sidepipe cars. The ones that have sidepipes use much smaller ones than the ubiquitous 427 S/C clones he describes.
That said, given the chance, I'd drive either kind...

After reading through this entire post, I realize that there really arent many hot rod sports cars in the hamb era. I would think corvettes and early t birds would flood this post. It seems that the healey, cobra and cheetah are the hotrods of choice in the hamb era. I, myself have totally enjoyed all of the pics. It makes me feel like my v8 healey is hamb cool, and that makes me smile. IMG_0261.jpeg

Did you read my comment? I referred to both sports and drag Cobras, which to the clear thinking person would include "hot rods". Would I like to have a Cobra of any type? Hell yes. That's doesn't mean that there isn't Cobra overload. I'm not asking anyone not to post their photos, I've got Cobra pics of my own. I even wrote that I liked both that particular Cobra and photo.
