  1. Yes, that was a historic meeting for me. Danny and Brenda are as nice as they can be. They sure made us feel as though we were old friends. Thanks to the HAMB we had that visit. I'm the short one! IMG_0272.JPG

I'd like to meet every damn one of you Hooligan's!!! :D:cool:;):p

  3. If you want to meet the other HAMBers, you need to step up and organize it. Like ol’ Bad Bob used to do. He had an EZ Up with the HAMB logo printed on it. He went early and we’d all get together there. There was a BBQ, ice chests full of beverages. I would whip up a pot of chili, bring spoons and bowls. Man, I hung with Bob K, Denise and many of the great folks who were around in those days. It was a blast! The old time HAMBers are thinned out. I don’t see Bad Bob around anymore. So, someone should step up and do it. The HAMB is a wonderful resource. I reconnected with Bluto, who I hadn’t seen since the late sixties. I’ve made lifetime friends on here.

  4. PS, always ask permission to use the HAMB logo. It’s the right thing to do…

  6. Thanks, Stogy. Maybe he’ll bust that ol’ EZ Up out again. HAMB Camp was really fun.

  7. There are folks I wish I could have met. Old Beet, Don_Wow, to name a couple.
I would still hope to meet the Pork n Beaner. And Roothawg.

I’ve met several H.A.M.B.s over the years and I always enjoy putting a face to a name. Truly great people.

My list of folks I would like to meet in person is growing all the time. I honestly can’t think of anyone I wouldn’t want to meet in person as far as the regulars here. Well, except that one guy...you know. :D

and frankly too many more to list. I've met quite few over the years, but really sometimes I feel like I already know a bucha you fuckers! That's a good thing, don't get yer knickers in a twist. I used to like those meet n greet shits we did a while back too but then it gets hard to connect all the who-what-when-car(s) stuff and it feels rude to look it up. I can promise y'all this, I'm the same dick in person as I am in these pages. I'm sure some can testify:cool:

  24. All of you , every last one of ya hooligans!

except that ONE GUY ! You know who you are :D

I thought maybe I had already posted on this thread, but I've discovered that I have not.

I'm one of those introverts Tman talked about. Until I get to know people, its pretty hard to get too many words out of me, unless its about a subject I know well. It doesn't help that I have a hard time putting names with faces. I do better associating a car to a person then a name to a person. I'm one of those guys hanging around not saying much. Direct questions get direct answers.

That said, I've met many HAMBers at those early HAMB drags meet & greets, one year Denise drug me around and introduced me to a lot of people. Many new names and faces I couldn't keep straight in my head. Guys having a different HAMB handle and a different name didn't help either. I probably didn't leave a very good impression on many of those I met. I've had that experience with Bob K too.

I've also attended several of the WI and the ST Louis Hot Rod 100s and have met many HAMB members at those too. I was one of those guys that "was there" and just sort of hung around and didn't say much. I probably didn't leave a very good impression with most people at any of those events either. A social butterfly I am not.

I am fortunate enough to live in an area where many HAMB members live, so I've met a lot of them, some many times. The more I see them, the more open I become. Getting the right name with the right face is still sometimes a challenge until I get to know them well.

I'm going to be at the Lloydfest in Oct with my lovely bride and expect to meet a bunch more HAMB members. I'll be the guy hanging around not saying much. Forgive me when I don't remember either your HAMB handle, or your name, or both. Gene
