I remember when these first showed up in the mid 60s. One version, if I remember correctly, bolted to the rear carrier as was shown in the advertisement back then of a 64/5 Chevelle.
Thats different, leaf sprung rear carrier on a 64 Chevelle. In those times one of the stronger rears was the 58/9/60 Pontiac/Olds. 4.11 positraction carriers from station wagons which would be why the leaf springs, I think. Thats what I had in my 55 chevy. in my avatar.
