Welcome to the HAMB where we love automotive archeology. Possibly more pictures here: ALTEREDS - GEORGE KL*** REMEMBERS... and 131 pages of Altereds here: Hot Rods - The ALTERED thread | The H.A.M.B. (jalopyjournal.com)
I miss the old Awful-Awful Fuel Altereds site. And the old Yahoo! Groups site. And the old... Sorry, got nuthin' for ya, but good luck on the search.
@51 g***er, I'm still curious. Where do you live? Where'd you find the ch***is? That might help narrow down the search. Frantic Fiat isn't mentioned in Don Montgomery's reference book: Your ch***is' coilovers & somewhat low stance date it to about 1969-70. Similar to the Mondello-Matsubara Fiat in '69 (RJ #39 covered it's restoration by @Pete Eastwood) and "Bad News" in '71. Hope this helps.
I finaly traced the history down and actualy spoke to a original owner , the car started at as the frantic fiat with a blown nitro 392 hemi it ran aa/fa , it was built by bob ramsier from kentucky using the facility at s&s engineering in 1969 , about 1972 he installed a red white and blue t body on it and called it captain america , in 1974 it was sold to lou able and earl mcdaniel and a injected 426 hemi was installed and ran in b/a , in 1975 able and mcdaniel purchased the original fiat body the roof was chopped 2 inches and black paint with gold leaf accents and reinstalled on ch***is , they ran it in various configurations up till 1986 when the car was retired , it was sold a few times but never raced again and i found it on marketplace in st paris ohio View attachment 5795093 View attachment 5795093 View attachment 5795094 View attachment 5795094 View attachment 5795095
