That shot of Kevin's car was probably 20 years ago at Paso Robles. I'm pretty sure he still has the car but it's apart right now I know he's on here but don't know his handle

Sure would be a stiff ride. Not only the binding shackles, but the rear tires have so much pressure in them the inside and outside edges are not even running on the road............:eek:

I have numerous pictures of this car, probably the most famous of all time. I know some are of the original car and I am sure that some are not. I would ask the resident Roth historian @Moriarity, is there any subtle differences between the original and others?

That’s the real car. Look at the white triangle in the middle of the panel paint job on the side of the body? The rear vertical line is straight up and down. When harrahs restored that car in the eighties that is one of the things they got wrong. That line is supposed to angle forward at the bottom
Here’s a photo of the 1960 car craft article on the car

Also the real car has the wrong wheels and hub caps . It has chrome smoothie wheels instead or the proper 51 mercury chrome wheels and wheel covers

This photo could have been a synopsis of my life years ago. T bucket with a Pontiac (I built one in HS metal shop- 370 w/hydro) the early 4 hole Halibrands that I had back then (still have), reverse chrome wheels and the light green ’55 Ford 2dr wagon in the background ( I never should have sold it). Funny

Roth was supposed to have made 4 of these bodies. Have seen pics of one other that was completed, looked nothing like Roth's but you could see it was the same body. The mould was stored on the roof of his old shop in LA, where it went I don't know, or if it still exists.

Someone here will know but I remember an article talking about someone (Robert Williams?) Fixed it, popped a slip & then a mold & made a few?? @Moriarity will know if I am talking trash & what the real story is.

Yes it is true that the original mold was stored on the roof of Roth's old shop. It was in pretty tough shape. He gave it to Robert Williams. When the Roth estate wanted to market Outlaw bodies Jimmy C was hired and he made a body out of the original mold then bodyworked it and made a new mold off from it. He also created from scratch the mold to produce the Outlaw grille assembly. as far as I know Robert Williams still owns the orig mold and he was given the first new body as payment for using the mold. My body is number 2
