    Hi guys,
I installed some Fenton dual headers on my 235 I6 and had to fab a trans pan as I went with a T5.. Ill need to add a new gas pedal and throttle linkage- would prefer to go cable and bypass threading the bent rod through the headers. Any info out there?

    Thank you!

I put one of those Lokar pedals that look like and original pedal. It has the cable on the firewall side but you have to make a hole at the base of the pedal for the cable pull mechanism. It is the smoothest working cable without any resistance to move. I really like it.

These are shots of the actual Lokar pedal setup.
I've got an ebay knockoff that I bought several years ago for my 48 with the 292 that I haven't tried yet. Years of driving with donor rig pedals that pulled a cable but were sometimes horridly uncomfortable taught me that I needed something that worked more like the original pedal on the inside. I just couldn't afford the Genuine Lokar pedal and have to gamble a bit. Screenshot (2000).png Screenshot (2001).png

The all black one that Lokar sells would hide a bit better on the floor. Lokar XFMG-6098 Eliminator Floor Mounted Gas Pedal 835573008234 | eBay

not sure if you'd consider it but I purchased the same cable through Speedway, way longer than I needed but...maybe it would be long enough to go around and pull from the front side? Will it be old tech..no...but there I times I just want to "get er done":)

Yes, I could do that, but it would look terrible.. Im kind of a fanatic about fit and finish and things working the way they should. Im building this car to be a stunner, so Ill figure out a proper solution. Thank you for the reply!!

I switched the way my Carter W-1s open by adding a lever to the throttle bracket. The lever extends across the center line so pulling down opens the throttle just as pulling up used to. I used stock 250 bell cranks with home made linkage rods. The cable pulls back, while the bell cranks pull down. DSCN2921.jpg

Thanks Joe! Interesting setup, looks great!... Geometry isnt my strong point, but I think I understand how it works. I****ume you have no binding issues

Smooth as a stock setup! Cable is something from a GM car I had around and throttle pedal came from Speedway. The hard part was getting all the play out of the linkage so they open the at the same time with no binding.

Carbs are easy to link together.

On my old Lotus Cortina , I went to the local "U-Pull" and cannibalized a 1/4 round cable pulley [off an old Mazda 323]
I welded it to the Weber throttle lever and had it re-plated to look stock

The carb to pedal was as smooth as*****er and linear with the pedal [no progressive or over centering] which was perfect for driving at the limit of tyre adhesion.

There are plenty of other candidates out there.
