My only experience with NSRA Safety 23. Several years ago I took my fresh 32 Ford Highboy pickup thru the safety 23 inspection process and I have everything up to code but a young inexperienced inspector. rejected the truck because of the 32/34 tie rod ends I'd used on the split bones and steering system. He didn't have a clue how they worked. As I was leaving an older man came over and apologized for the other inspector and said the first man had made a mistake and he passed me. The first inspector was his son.

So, its the Sunday before the Nats begin............those of you who don't come will be missing out on a great experience for whatever reason you choose to do so. Its hard to believe that with 10,000 cars on display that someone cannot find anything to see thats worth the price of admission. Also, the deals offered by some of the vendors can actually save you more than the cost of parking and walkin admission. You can not only get a lot of catalogs to peruse, but actually have face to face converstions with tech people for the products. My personal opinion is that those that don't come are only depriving themselves of a lot of fun and the opportunity to meet and interact with lots of nice people with a similar interest.:):):)

I use to go every year and the 50th was my last time. If I wanted to see rusted out 78 suburbans I can go to Wal Mart and I don't need a window sticker.

Various locations I believe, receiving pics from people there already. I'm headed over Saturday, maybe tomorrow too, I'll post more pics after I attend.

Ashley told me that the straight axle mafia has a bunch of cars down there this year. Bridges Speed Shop. Joey is a good dude. Wanted to hit the swap meet this year but I used my vacation days for the reunion and Lloydfest.

We went quite a few times when I was a lad to Columbus, Louiville, and NY, this was back in the mid-90s. I've only been to the K'zoo nats since.
I would love to go back to KY if only just for nostalgia, but it won't be any fun when I'm not spending Dad's money.

Great group of gassers. They were on display inside. I did the swap meet and picked up a couple of things. Checked out the indoor vendors, didn't buy anything. Time ran out and we never got to see all the cars. But I did see a lot near the swap meet and going and coming.
Funny, I saw a fellow taking an '86 Suburban in. Ron

Just got back to Lexington, great show and perfect weather today. Some incredible builds, took a ton of pics that I will try to post later. Walked over 10 miles according to the phone, enjoyed every minute of it and wife loves that show. Some amazing MoPars, Corvettes, Hot Rods, Willys, Trucks, Gassers etc. As I was walking out, but still in the building, the straight axle mafia guys started firing up their cars in the building to leave, wonderful sound and smell of racing gas. Fun day.

Well since my posts got deleted, I can only assume that I'm the guilty party...........and I don't even know what the objectionable one (or more) was. It takes a lot of time to go around and take pictures and then download them for the enjoyment of others on the Hamb. I don't do it for my benefit, as I already have them to look at. From Wed to Saturday I took over 500 pictures and got sunburned doing it. I tried to insure that I didn't post any Billet wheels although I don't always seem to be able to tell that a wheel is billet. I think I had some really nice cars to share with those who didn't get to come.
However, I'm no longer going to post any of those photos and spend a few more hours of my time doing it only to see it all disappear. So, sorry guys but since I seem to have no idea how to post pictures that are acceptable, I won't be sharing them anymore...........

Do you post them anywhere else…like Facebook?
I prefer traditional Hot Rods, but try not to be anal about it.

I’ll try to post more later, need to download from camera.

  29. Knees did great. Those shots work.
Unfortunately the rest of me wasn’t up to the challenge.
Got my top bows and tack strip from Brookville. Thanks, Kenny!:D
Slow walked the swap meet and found a few things at decent prices.
Lots of good stuff this year. Met some new and old friends.
I really am a swap meet junkie.
Went through part of the Expo Bldg. and bought a Tom Fritz print for my birthday.
But at the end of the day, I was too beat to look at cars. No country for old men. Is it scooter chair time?
    SOOO….
I’m done with Louisville. After so many years of going. :(
Guess I’m an addict or a slow learner, or as the monkey screwing the skunk said, “I’ve enjoyed all of this I can stand”.
I’ve had enough of the heat, traffic congestion, rough ass interstates that never seem to get repaired, jacked up room rates, late model cars, and the delays every year from construction and wrecks. On the way home it took me two hours to go five miles on I-65. !! A five hour trip takes 7-8 hours, every year. The same old shit, year after year, coming and going.
So thanks to all who take time to post car pics. If it wasn’t for your efforts, I wouldn’t see any cars this year.
