Do you post them anywhere else in an "unfiltered" version?

No, no plans to post them anywhere else. Just pick the ones that are of interest to me and delete the rest of them.

I looked at the deleted posts (I am not the one that deleted them) and you posted a late 60's rambler wagon (the cut off is 1965) and also a pro street 55 chevy (pro street tubbed cars with steam roller tires are off topic) pretty simple really post off topic stuff and it gets deleted

Well since I'm not an expert on Ramblers and the years they were produced.......and I seriously doubt that most people on here could identify
what year that particular Rambler was produced .........was it really worth denying everyone all the other pictures for an obviously simple oversight?

As for the pro stock 55 Chevy........I'd say thats debatable. It was a simple all black Chevy with a chopped top. When I was a kid in the 60s, there was a guy that had more money than most of us..........and he drove a chopped 55 Chevy on the street with a stroked V8 and everybody knew not to mess with him. It also had big tires.........not as big as this one though. There are no wheelie bars protruding from the back, No blower sticking out of the hood, no fancy lettering and I don't know if it even had a roll bar. No ladder bars either. Just a plain jane black 55 Chevy with large tires and a chopped top and it reminded me of a car I knew in the 50s.
Contrast that with this car which was posted above.

It has a chopped top, huge slicks, and it actually has wheelie bars. So they are basically built in a similar fashion...but one is unacceptable. I assure you that with the Rambler wagon which appeared to be perfectly stock, it was a simple matter of not realizing it wasn't 65 or older. So, as I mentioned, I took over 500 photos which a serious investment in my time at the Nats. I figured I might post 100/200 of them. I tried to get a wide variety for Hambers to see. Many of them held little or no interest for me personally. I believe that the two offending pictures could easily have been deleted with no real problem, but the decision was made to wipe the whole posting. To me it seems like "cutting off your nose to spite your face" as the old saying goes. The Hamb will not see 100/200 photos because 2 photos were deemed unacceptable. I won't spend my time accumulating them at future Nationals events, so thats another loss to the Hamb. I'm not trying to be argumentative, but only pointing out that unintenional minor infractions won't decimate the Hamb. It takes quite a bit of time and effort to compile and post stuff like this as well. There is probably no way I could post 200 pictures and not have some miscue. I think in the future the Hamb might want to consider the good intentions and effort involved before wiping things away.

Moriarity, I do appreciate you taking the time to inform me about what the actual miscues were.

Edit: I did look into the Rambler a little further, and basically they produced the same body style from 64-69 with minor difference made to the single headlight and grill insert. Kinda like the differences between a 65 and 66 Chevy . From appx 6 inches behind the headlights its the same car they made in 64. So I was incorrect in posting it, but virtually no one but a Rambler fanatic knows these things.

I would delete that red coupe also if it were reported. Then thing about editing out select photos is that it takes us mods far more time to edit as opposed to deleting the post. Maybe the deletions make the posters more careful about what they post in the future? I don't know for sure. As always it is not a personal attack on anyone, it is merely an editorial decision in an effort to keep the board on topic....

I didn't take it as a personal affront, and I thank you for explaining things to me. Like I said, I think the Hamb would have been better served by considering what it had to gain vs what it was loosing. There is an old saying........"The operation was a success but the patient died". Anyway thanks for the cordial responses .

I hope it’s OK to post this here, but I picked up a bunch of Summit 10% off Codes at NSRA for people and have some available if anyone needs one. They are one-time use so PM me if interested, good until 9-2-2023. If not allowed, please delete.

the key to the whole thing is we need to keep the off topic stuff off the site, once the floodgates are opened this place would turn into a street rod site and nobody wants that...

Well, here is the only one I plan to post. Met a super nice guy named Mert who drives his car rain or shine. Puts a plastic bag over the distributor when it rains.
He drove 11 hours straight thru to get to the Nats and happened to park near me in the shade of the horse barns. Shared my lunch with him sitting in my truck while my scooter was getting a little extra charge from the previous days use.
Couldn't meet a nicer guy and I told him I was going to post this pic......
Hi Mert, hope you had a safe trip home.....and don't forget to check on forming a new chapter of the "Chicken Eaters Car Club" in Ioway.:D

No more giveaway cars after this year. Contract with Louisville expires in 2025. Things could be changing.

Things are already changing. Lots of "Dad's" daily drivers on the grounds. 77 Pick-up give away instead of 30's cars. More and more venders without parts.

I would be interested in reading hambers opinions on where NSRA should re-locate in 2026 if Louisville isn’t the host city.

Goodguys did similar with a 1988 Chev half ton that they're giving away this year. It was a cool build, but not really in line with what you'd expect from them. They're trying to relate to the interests of their changing demographic.

However, in "getting back to their roots", the Goodguys giveaway car for next year is a full-fendered 32 five-window with a Roush 347 and a quick change. It was designed by eblackdesign and will have a sweet traditional look to it with wide-5 wheels.

Over 9200 cars there. They are doing something right. I hope it stays in Louisville. Great facility for a big car show. Everyone has their opinion.

  21. I’m in on the new format.
It’s easy to walk past things ya don’t like.
I never liked the 48 and down cut off

Same here, great show, love the traditional and Muscle car mix, easy to ignore the stuff I don’t like. Hope it stays in Louisville, great facility and a perfect layout for it.

It would be nice if it moved to a different city every year. A different vacation spot for travelers attending further away. The only people who would complain are the locals. Too many people parking in the same spot year after year.

Thats where it always was. Where do you think it should be?

  27. Where it is now.
Should have been changed 10-15 years earlier.
I’m good with a 25 year rolling cutoff.
    Or no cutoff.

Seems people have gotten away from Hot Rodding. Hot Rodders were the ones that went to a boneyard to search for something they could adapt to their rod. Now, very few want to create, engineer, or fabricate. When Tex Smith published his magazine, Hot Rod Mechanix, he caught hell from the street rod industry for showing people how to build hot rods.

I think before recently they had the cutoff at '64. Then maybe it got bumped up to '72(?) to include muscle cars. But again they are targeting a larger demographic and can't please everyone all the time. It's easy to walk past what you don't like and with still 9,000+ cars there you should be able to find plenty to look at.

Its like a Buffet where you pick what you want to eat and overlook the stuff you don't like. Like any business, they have to cater to the menu that puts the most customers in the store, and what draws the most sponsors into their venue. Like I said before, those of you that didn't attend (for what ever reason) missed out on seeing a lot of well built cars. On Saturday, I saw a traditional 32 that stuck in my mind above all the others. I just loved that car. I spoke with the owner who was from Canada and he told me he had built an absolute killer car before this one. It had a zillion dollar paint job to go along with all the other "must have" stuff. Said he was so worried about scratching or denting it that he couldn't enjoy it. So after only 2500 miles he sold it............
Then he built this one and boy did he nail it. Had painted wheels and a hood so you could not see the engine. The paint was single stage with street driveable gloss and it just looked right. The rear tire to fender gap was absolutely perfect............it 's making me rethink how I'm going to finish my car. Sedate and tasteful, It just oozed class........;), and he drove it all the way from Canada.

Too bad many of you didn't get to see it too, but when you stick your nose up in the air you often miss out on seeing a lot of the beauty around you.............:D
