It took me about 2 seconds to get over the initial shock and decide that I LOVE this car.

Something hit me today that id never even considered about this car.

like a lot of the bat shit crazy , or even bat mobile! Cars that lead us here that car is going to stand out to kids everywhere. We watched the John Jackson/ not stock photography video today and my three year old beamed “oh I like that stripe one!!”

I think it’ll be the poster on the wall and the car of “my youth” to a whole generation of new hot rodders.

IMG_2915.jpeg IMG_2917.jpeg IMG_2916.jpeg I throw a hot rod party once a year for my buddies known as Garage-O. This year I was truly honored that Bill Ganahl brought St. Christopher to the gathering. To say it was the highlight of the party would be a huge understatement! To see and hear this coupe come down my street , (and even chirp the tires) is something I will never forget! Thanks Bill & Coby.

A couple of hours ago, there was a you tube video put up by Nicole Johnson. An in depth look at St Christopher. Outside, inside, underneath, build pictures and she gets to drive and you get a go pro ride along in this piece of ART

    Killer Car! Love it.
I think it's going to be a remembered/grouped along with a lot of the other Iconic 33/34s throughout the years.

I can't help but notice that those that don't like the paint sound like they want all hot rods to look the same, and easily forgotten.

    That makes me sad.

  15. That's like the hot-roddy-ist hot rod that's every hot rodded its way to the GG hot rod award!

And I like the paint, for the record. I might build a model replica of it.

They seemed to have a little bit humor with the paint. A barf bag if you didn’t like the paint.
@southcityrodandcustom @Church built an amazing car. It sure sounds good ,,

I'm honestly not sure what the end goal was, and really, it's none of my business, but if you're doing an interview to publicize the car, a basic knowledge of how engines work would be a good idea IMHO. Sorry, just comes off as odd that someone who was (I'm assuming here, so maybe I am wrong) involved with the build or who works for the shop/builder would go into an interview this unprepared, and from what I watched of the video above, uninformed. Nobody is going to know everything, myself included, but when you put a show car like this out there in the general public's eyes, and willingly take steps to publicize it, you should at least be knowledgeable about the vehicle you had a part in building.

I do like the paint scheme, and the fact that it is both a bit bold and risky-- we need more of that IMHO. The car has great detail all over and certainly passes the eye test almost instantly. Maybe that's all it needs to do.:)

I am a car guy from Australia. There are so many stand out hot rods built in the USA every year and this past year was no different. This car is certainly worthy of Hot Rod of the Year Award in my opinion.

Mates have asked me many times before what sort of cars do I like? My answer is usually along the lines of 'I have no control of what I like in a car. When I approach certain cars, my heart beat raises, my eyes are darting all over the place spotting modifications and noticing tweaks. Then I ponder how did they do it or make that fit...........blah blah'. I follow Church on Insta and this car well and truly caught my attention even in bare metal.

Being a 5 window helps. The concave firewall was mind blowing. The injected Hemi, Halibrands and it just looks like it is faster than light speed sitting there. No radiator looking through the grille, all of it. That sort of detail is hard earnt. And yes, the first time I saw it in paint made me recall TC's chopper in Magnum PI from my youth. I hope to get the chance to see the car in the flesh one day.

    What a car - bravo

    Cheers Turns

    Indeed.

It's a hell of a hot rod in my book. What's not to like?
Congratulations to the owner and builder. I think the phrase, "job well done" springs to mind.

And if either of those cars was solid black with black interior, they would not be as memorable or interesting. There's different that works and different that doesn't. To my eye, Saint Christopher is a car that's different and sure as hell works. Your opinion may vary.

I watched the video, hrm2k thank you. I thought it was going to suck but I was surprised! I had never heard of Nicole Johnson but was impressed, especially when she drove the car; with her getting acclimated to the car and the fact the car had perfect steering:rolleyes:. The paint scheme I got used to it, the fact that everything else is so well constructed helped a bunch.

You know what he meant, don't be that guy.

I'd love to see ACME make a 1:18 scale version.

I like her videos, they spend a lot of time on the car with the owner/builder, and there's not a bunch of obnoxious music in the background. There's a guy on GJ whose OT widened MG she profiled, and I love the one with the Daedalus '60s style road racer with the straight-six GMC.

The only time I've seen her struggle with a car was some awful rat rod V12 truck with questionable build quality.

Quite honestly, I didn’t like the car the first time I saw it but it certainly does grow on you. I do like each individual color and looking at the pictures in this thread I see the color transitions. It’s striking and beautiful. The chop is perfect, Halibrands, injected Hemi, hidden radiator, perfect. The zoomies seem out of place, should have been weed burners.
It sure does deserve all of the accolades, it’s a well executed and memorably styled Hot Rod.

when you stop and consider that not too long ago, the NHRA museum declared the 4 most influential 34 Ford hot rods of all times were, The California Kid, Jakes yellow coupe, the Superbell coupe and the eliminator coupe. All iconic in their own right. Is St Christopher better ? Not sure. Is St Christopher as good as those 4 ? I agree with the boss, it is that good.

For those who don’t think hot rods with conventional black or plain color paint jobs are memorable, think of Doyle Gammel’s coupe, Bob Moreland’s 40 sedan, Phil Cools roadster, Cole Cutler’s coupe, 3wLarry’s coupe, all conventional colors and paint schemes but definitely memorable.

Can't handle the paint job, has no flow, no relationship to anything on the car, distracts from the beauty of of the cars natural body lines.

Throw some billet wheels on it and a M II front end on it and it's 1986 again.

Looked like they wanted a HOK paint job but not enough of one color on the shelves so took what they had and made due.

The build, work etc is exceptional but just can't get paint the monkey garage paint job...
