Dammit, @Ned Ludd , you've got to stop that. Looked up "toe beans" and then had to look up "polydactyl". Normal cat has 18 toes. Have you ever tried counting the number of toes on a cat when he doesn't want to cooperate? Had to go to the store for more Band-Aids.

I have had a wonderful life and made a good living from cats. Science has recently confirmed what every cat owner knew-cats are not domesticated animals. Very cool, though

Staying on topic with this thread. One of my pet peeves is the cat on top of my Merc.

Cats naturally love to seclude themselves inside cardboard boxes as a safe hiding spot.
Move the box off the top of your Merc.

    From corrosion in the system.
Yes, it is. It started with the convicts and then royalty and then the real dregs, politicians.

  16. Auburns, Cord, Duesenberg, Cadillcs, Packards and such are Classics. Model A's B's amd C are not. Fords and Chevys are not, The Model "A" Ford Club is nothing like The Auburb, Cord, Duesenberg Club. The HAMB is not a Classic Car site, it's a, primarily Rod and Custom site except my Tub page cause I cheat all my tubs in regardless of their status.

Give me Phillips head screws or give me death!
Still don't get why anyone would choose to use a slotted screw over a Phillips head screw.
If I didn't use my straight blade screwdrivers for pry bars they wouldn't get used at all.

How many pet peeves is one person allowed?
    This one really bugs me.
What's with people posting photos of their custom car when the thread title clearly says "show us your hotrods".
I'd no more post a photo of my roadster on a custom thread than drive a Prius!

  21. You don't use Robertson heads?

So nobody asked but,, the inventor of the phillps head, was Thomas P. Thomson, a native of Oregon.
The need of it was assembly line production speed.

  23. Peter Lymburner Robertson (December 10, 1879 – September 28, 1951) was a Canadian inventor, industrialist, salesman, and philanthropist who popularized the square-socket drive for screws, often called the Robertson drive. Although a square-socket drive had been conceived decades before (having been patented in 1875 by one Allan Cummings of New York City, U.S. Patent 161,390), it had never been developed into a commercial success because the design was difficult to manufacture. Robertson's efficient manufacturing technique using cold forming for the screw's head is what made the idea a commercial success.[1]

They're far superior to Phillips. I am still surprised America hasn't figured that out!

Calling a car, or a ship, "she" is traditional, if a bit sexist. Still , I would not say that wearing panties makes you a female or the lack of wearing panties removes one's femininity. Some might argue quite the opposite. But it's okay, you're only about a century behind the times.

Talking about internal wrenching fasteners, Torx and Torx plus. Just enough different that if you try to remove a Torx plus with a Torx driver, you might fail. Been there done that, as I didn't know the difference until I broke 2 drivers in a row. Now I have a set of Torx plus drivers that I always try 1st. If they fit, they get used.

Some help me out. The way I understand it, Henry Ford wanted to buy the Robertson Patent (?) and
possibly the offer was to low or for whatever reason Robertson said no. Henry blacklisted him in the states and the rest is history. And you guys got stuck with those f2ing slotted screws. See it slipped while I was typing and look what happened.

  30. This is not a pet peeve but it makes me chuckle.
The fella that posts that splitting your bones turns the axle into a sway bar then later you see him trying to find a sway bar for a Ford with bones. Hell just split the bones. Problem solved.

wait wait!!!!!!! let me get back on topic.
Everything is for sale. Uh, no its not, and stop calling me a liar.:D:D:D
