You are right there 'nickthebandit', it was our 'go to place' when we were chasing parts, the Plymouth coupe nearly followed me home.
If you do a Google map search for Gisborne, New Zealand, Waipaoa River, then zoom in at the river mouth, scroll inland, and on the right side of the river, (a bit before the rail bridge) amongst the trees, you can see the wrecks.. I went and checked the scene last visit back home, unfortunately the council had cleaned them all out a couple of years ago..

Another one, I had almost forgotten about, until I started looking through a box of photos. This was a four cylinder version, the previous owners had undertaken a full restoration only for it to fall back into disrepair when the current owners took possession of it. This was in 2004.

The cab and all the panels were sitting out in the elements and the new owners who also had a Model A complained to me that someone had stole some of its parts. I don’t know what become of this one, I wanted to buy it but didn’t have the money, I was saving up for a trip to California that year.

I’m guessing they either sold it or someone stole it. The are not the same as the regular BB cabs, everything from the cowl back was manufactured in Geelong.

The roof and cab were stamped separately so it would been very easy for someone to help themselves to it, nothing was bolted down, this was just a mock-up.

That yard looks very familiar, but if it’s the one I’ve been to it’s in NSW.

  9. Definitely different from the green one. The rear windows and fenders aren’t the same.

In northern Minnesota we have a town called Climax which is only 30 miles from a town called Fertile. If the two ever get together watch out! :p

  30. Going by the headlight and fender styling i would go one size bigger and say Austin A70 . Actually i have had both , the A70 and A40 are quite different . I see six wheel studs , not the usual four. ( heavy duty )
