If we’re talking about tools, etc. why to battery chargers have such a short handle on them?

 

Here's one that annoys me. "VOICE-TO-TEXT" (or speech to text, talk to text...... whatever it's called).
It is a flawed concept. Garbled, unintelligible messages most of the time. It's like trying to crack a code.....
Have we all really become that busy?

 

Don't say "short" and "battery" in the same sentence.

 

Yes son, you can use the battery charger, but don't touch the short handle.
It will instantly drain the charge and start a fire, and we don't need that.....

 

Pet peeves, you may have or or two at first and they start out innocent enough but then they multiply and eat all your quadrotriticale. I try to avoid them.

 

Speaking of that, my dad schooled into me to never clip the leads on the handle.
When he was working at Van Pelts fire trucks, he saw someone plug the charger in that hadn’t been turned off and the leads were clipped to the handle

 

i clip the leads to the handle only if theres a rubber tube covering jt

 

Here is a good example of the importance of proper spelling!

I've seen that happen with a "hand trolley" with a battery on it [used to jump start cars on a car yard]
The stupid yard boy clipped the jumpers onto the handle after starting a car.

We had figured out a way for it to "auto switch off" but it was too complicated .PVC tube wrapped on the handle was more idiot proof"

That should be Short and "Lucas"

 

I think old fast made those mistakes on purpose……kinda to make a point…..you know like on a sword! Lol

One of those monsters was my first tool box as well, I had fished mine out of a junk pile, because it was already a total wreck, all bent up, it had really been abused.
I was just a kid so what did I know about such items !
It pinched my fingers plenty of times trying to get it un-jammed !
In hindsight, I should have kept it, purely as a item from my youth.
It's very cool that you still have your Dad's first tool box!

Not sure if it was his first, but I have one my dad, similar, but maybe 3 feet long. Been my porta power storage for years.
I never did ask my dad what he used it for, but I’d guess in the shipyards way back when.
