M/T’s twin engine, four wheel drive car testing at Lions drag strip. It was not intended to be a dragster, it was built to break FIA records in the standing start kilometer and mile. Years later Noel Black had a twin 4WD land speed car that he also tested at the drags sans body.

Look at the photo and consider that there are two gears turning the rotors under the covers. By driving the front engine’s blower with the gears at the rear of the case the rotors are rotating the same direction as the rear blowers rotors, forcing the air around the sides of the case as normal.
It may have been done by someone before but regardless Chet Herbert was a very clever man.

I have heard of belly burners but those are dangerously lower....

Looks like Ralph from the Christmas Story after he got tired of BB guns. The old man would be prouder if that was an Oldsmobile.

  23. That's because she sees him spending the money on "that stupid engine" that she was planning to buy new drapes with! (or maybe a higher hairdo)

In the early 60's in Altered class, a blower jumped you only 1 class. We had a 32 coupe around here that had a blown Studebaker, that ran B/A, won most of the races !
