I dropped off the front axle today for a new leaf spring and removed half the car just to remove the rear end. Dropping it off at Cook's tomorrow to add 2 inches on each axle housing end.

Be interested in knowing how they will add 2 inches on the axle tube.

Try rotating the body an inch or two for a little rake and see if you like it.

I tried it but a buddy owns this white dragster and I don't want to have it look alike so I think I might head towards earlier style dragsters.

Borrowed Chema's parts washer. Uncle Sal at Atlas spring built a new spring for my dragster and Paul at Cook's is widening my rear end 2" each side with Torino ends!

With the shackles nearly vertical, aren't you going to need a center locating device, such as a panhard rod ?

I'll probably have to do something like this. But the spring doesn't seem like it will move and down much.

Have you ever seen those Elvis legs, that wiggle back and forth. Shackle angle takes care of that . IMG_0456.JPG

Now I understand. I can easily have Atlas shorten the spring to give it more arch.

I would love to get a few opinions on these tires, I want to run as tall as I can get to make it look somewhat of the era. Luck was on my side, I bought new Anglia bearings today and it tuns out that the wheels were machined for Anglia.

Shout out to Mike for making it easy to buy bearings locally with his precise measurements.

Do tire shops shave them? I don't trust myself to do it.

  23. I have seen someone post in the past about a tire shaver in Socal. Maybe @axle or someone else knows?

  24. Nate Jones in Signal Hill if he’s still there shaves tires.

    Looking good!
Are you going to trim the body around the tires to alow for tire growth at speed?

I’m only using these tires for mock up and they’re much larger than the ones I’ll be running

Boy! Sure looks better since you filled the original back tire cutout!
