Art & Inspiration Lets see those interior door panels

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HOTRODPRIMER, Aug 23, 2023.

  1. This idea spurred my fertile imagination when reading another post about a fellow members interior work, post a photo of your interior door panels, whether it's original or homespun in your own garage, Professionally done or work a pal with a sewing machine created, whatever you got, this might give others ideas. My old beater, this is what it looked like for years.

    And a couple of years ago my pal Dave did this.

    And Brenda's '54 Ranch Wagon, Dave also did this one.

    I did these myself in my old 56 Chebby using pre formed channel tufted material I ordered online.

    My hotrod 28A has had two styles of interior,first one was all black=even though the black vinyl was free leftovers an was done for me by Nuwt, RIP buddy/ Nuwt's custom seats an bost tops,,,It turn out to be much too hot in the Fla. sun/ had to keep a beach towel in my roadster ,all the time.
    After getting a bit smarter,the next time, Nuwt had passed away, so did it my self,>I added yellow panles were ya sit,so much better heat wise.

    I did a HAMB tech for doing it,,at home,,some years back;

  8. Having been playing in a band when I was a teenager I really like the Fender styled door panel.

    Are the knobs functional or just part of the effect? HRP

  9. Did this in my basement. The white pleated material came pre sewn.

    The volume knob (top) is functional and the indicator light (at the bottom) comes on when the system is switched on. It wasn't easy running RCA cables to and from the door to the amp under the seat!

  13. Might not hve been easy but it sure looks great, that's thinking out of the box. HRP

    Before and after.
    The leather stitching matched the original mohair stitching perfectly.
    My friend sewed the seat and another sewed the door panels. I installed the headliner and everything behind the seat.

    Is it a door panel if there's no door?
