  2. Well left it over night. Washed it off, cleaned it, tinted it with wood stain and glamet and got it pretty close! Both doors basically done, mount master cylinder and that’s about all I can do until we start to disassemble everything. Body needs some floors made and a bit more rust repair to get through. 88EED554-3984-47DC-8297-1FF91D7EF641.jpeg 1E54BAC5-AE84-4855-9981-806AC20ACA01.jpeg 86AD6B48-D8CF-47A9-B3A8-D865CCEF5CB7.jpeg 171E3E56-53AC-4904-9EFB-2F28DD1CE745.jpeg C253E309-DC7F-4007-8E75-156C6BB93935.jpeg 22C6E9CF-7028-46C8-8940-9084F4AC5991.jpeg 8901EC5D-12D2-4DC7-B898-E2227C3410A4.png

@jordabennett It was great to be able to visit you last week and see this project in the flesh. you have a great setup, and I really enjoyed our chat.

Looking forward to further updates on the build

  7. Haven’t done much last few days on the roadster, however I did get the lathe setup and will get it wired in this week, few things I need to make on it! I also found this windshield frame in my pile. Almost looks like 32 but not. Any ideas? Stuck it on the roadster for a snap! Close fit

  11. Decided to shorten the rear frame horns and keep the spreader bar, traditionally these are cut off but I like them sticking out slightly. I will create a new style bracket that will fit to the tail light abs have the studs welded flush to it to simplify it, but after powder coating and staining the housings they look better, more tomorrow!

  12. Wrapped up the tail lights today, finished the mounts. Happy with the turn out, trying to simplify the brackets and where the spreader bar fixes. The 3/4 shots my favourite almost looks like they are floating. I used the needle scaler again to texture it before powered coat and stain.
    Simple but effective.

NEXT on the list, more rust repair. Including the lower edge of the boot skin- modify it the a rumble seat. And much more!

  17. Struggle using 1.2mm ally, usually use 1.6 for a his but learned a fair bit. It’s not perfect but suits the car. Few leather straps to hold it down and Texas Rex will be flying around the circuit 999BB007-4FF2-4E11-B3C5-7BBDD9D1D488.jpeg B62DE3BC-3CC1-4B67-A9EB-18B4AF5286A5.jpeg 04D22724-152C-4306-BFBD-F077605303B7.jpeg C0B9A28C-F17F-49B0-B262-FF31783E3A92.jpeg A404BF51-EB55-43B0-972C-A2A734C1AAA6.jpeg 7AAE3FB1-9EBB-44A7-8F8E-2D7E72DA91AE.jpeg B5D690C5-B263-4643-AFEC-78072D798246.jpeg B4341C7C-BAFA-4FA3-80CF-D0E3D5B83626.jpeg 3BB9F490-A041-4BF3-A900-1BD78D336FB9.jpeg

How did I miss this thread? I watch the videos religiously so I've seen the car but the thread will fill in the gaps, I'm sure. Lots of reading to catch up on.

If you haven't already responded to the hamb thread regarding flaring exhaust tube, the guys need to see your bias flared side exhaust on your past project, it looked all the world like a 'P' something in flight!

  24. Awaiting more parts to continue working on Mine and Ben’s roadsters- I started to experiment with ageing cast. I plan to run the motor block painted and have a nice contrast with some aged,
almost magnesium looking heads and intake with lots of smaller chrome and nickel plated details.
Below you can see I used a needle scaler to ‘texture’ the offy intake and then after a few treatments the result was really cool. I will explain more on this once all parts are completed and show you more before and after photos.

  30. Well the car has been side lined as usual to get other jobs done, it’s been a fun month of getting Ben’s roadster closer to driving.
Made an axle drop jig and have been having a blast just dropping axles in my spare time- it’s a lot of fun and lots to learn.

As for the the roadster the motor it at the machine shop, getting some love. So I decided it was time to blow apart the chassis and start to prep and paint the majority of parts. I’m excited to start getting this back together. Lots more to come.
