You didn't seem to get the point of my post and the statements you picked out, but have fun with your crusade.

Some of us really like the car. You REALLY don't. We get it.

This sort of reminds me of the way things were around here when I first joined, for better or worse.

I was undecided before seeing it with my own two @ the GNRS and then I really liked it, truly.
I'm not sure why the burden of truth is on me to prove to you this fact.

  7. Me likey ugly brown paint, 70s vans, dull wheels and useless louvers.

Kinda like dressing as a pimp with a stripper prom date and ya both get crowned prom king and queen.
I bet the gasps at the trophy ceremony were similar.

  9. At the end of the day it’s a bad ass hot rod with an early Hemi and I love it, yes even the paint, makes no difference to me if someone doesn’t believe that’s possible.

Funny how people will slobber all over themselves at the mention of some of the cyclops looking custom s#/t that came out of the 60's but can't wrap their nucular heads around this masterpiece.

  13. Yeah, most Kustoms that people goo over are really abortions in their final form. Look what happened to many including the Kookie T chasing show points.

It doesn't work for me, but it could be repainted.

It seems we are never too old for a good slap of inspiration. Well said, and thank you for a great verbal upper.

  18. Repaint it? And blend in wherever it goes? This car makes a statement, good or bad, like it or not. I hope it never gets repainted!!! You ever notice how many red 32 Roadsters are at shows? Black Coupes?
    Just admit...you don't get it.

How do you feel about Roth's bubble-top cars? "It would look great, if it didn't have the bubble top". hahaha People still talk about his cars, and would die to own one.

So, if ya'll had the power to repaint it, what would you do?
There's a sure bet at least 50% of you would not like it.

  20. No.
    Maybe add more stripes?
    Funky lettering?

I’d rather be able to change these things
    IMG_3708.jpeg
    turn em around?

  22. Ain’t it crazy how we see stuff.
The brown striped ride looks killer to me but these wish ordered Halibrand wheels just look strange.

Yeah, I find the wheels one of the details of the green car that keep it from being a generic A roadster.

Oh I get it I just don't like it. As for Big Daddy, the chance I got to meet one of my Heroes, shake his hand and tell him how much I love his work is a moment I treasure. The Rat Fink Sticker I bought almost 30 years ago from the man himself. It is still on the car, along with a mooneyes sticker from 62 and a kliv sticker from the 60s.

It's too late to repaint it. It has become Iconic. Only the builder can now, Id gowith a 60s psychedelic vibe myself, but that's me

  26. How often have we heard here that we don't do this and don't cover that and threads and pics get deleted because some details on a car are not traditional (which IS good IMHO)
Sorry, obviously I don't get it but what is HAMB-traditional about this paint job?
The car is well built and has tons of nice details but that the paint is considered the greatest thing since sliced bread here on the HAMB leaves me wondering..... What's next, someone building a 40s hot rod, paints it Evel Knievel Style and calls it "Saint FuckU"?

  27. Funny.....if you don't like it....or don't get it, why would you perpetuate the situation, and keep commenting on it? hahaha
Like those people who hate the Barbie movie......just keeps it going.
