The movie is now (for a while at least) on-demand on Turner. Lots of cool old movies are on there, new ones each week.

Well updates..... kinda.. to honest.. I have just been putting miles on it.. can't seem to get my ass outta of it.
Need to adjust the front binders....this weekend.
I still need to finish the exterior window trim.My Heater core took a dive.. so that is on the way(a new one)
Rattled the exhaust loose..... fixed it......Want to install my traction masters.... maybe this weekend,....
got my fuel gauge installed and working...... but it bounces like a Hooker on a Friday Night.
I want to adjust the timing a bit more.....

I have a spot reserved at my stitchers place to get the seat done(Late September)...and found the proper material to do the Pass. door panel as well.I need to get my bus. tray finished and then the rubber mats front in rear.....
On the good side.. it pulls like a freight train and I get rubber in 3 gears.....
I have installed my bias plus.... but any speed over 70 it gets a little funky... not bad.. just funky Kinda "Floaty"
    It is what it is....

But.... its super fun. and I LOVE THIS CAR.

I will be back on the other 57 this late fall or when the weather gives me the knock out Punch.

    Thanks all!

BTW...I found the pic of the 57 that started my madness with this car/year/model..... early 90's.... saw it once.. never again. with a Barry Poole built 428/4 speed...... this was a game changer for me.

and of course.. I gotta be careful of the Po Po..... hahahah......Have a great weekend all!

    J.

    Jeff,

In your shoes I'd not take the time to monkey with stuff until winter either. I also would just drive the wheels off of it 'til then. Turned out great.

What a beautiful and bad-ass car you’ve built! It’s great to see you driving it and having a blast.
    Fantastic job Jeff!

Jeff, your sinister black Ford looks like it would steal the lunch money from any pastel two-toned SBC-powered '57 Chevy.

Well. another update. one I have been long waiting for.....
A very good friend,Rob P. who was responsible for saving this car in the very beginning has scored again.
I have always wanted a Business mans tray instead of a back seat.But. to actually find one is like fine hens teeth.Extremely rare.... which equates to extremely expensive.
So Rob and I have spoken about this at great lengths.... and he said.. Let's make one.
I have a friend who has an original and another who has one in his E-code car in the North East.
I made some to scale accurate drawings... and past them on to Rob.
Since I am going into the interior now and getting my seats re-done.... and have all my flooring ready to be put in.. the time was getting close.
This past Saturday..I was doing some small stuff and the phone rang
"Can you come down to my shop with your 57?"

Yep,.... and in 20 minutes I was there.
I was floored to say the least.......Rob wanted to test fit the tray to see how it was going to fit.
He made a metal buck... as his pattern and away he went.
The tray was set in... and fits perfectly..... he still needs to make the 3 sets of different feet but after I left(20 minute drive) I get a text and he has already made the first set of corner feet on his shrinker!
The BM Tray is not an exact copy.. we made structural changes and a few visual different cues(Nobody wants to step on FOMOCO Toes.

This guy is an extreme fabricator and can make anything.... I wish I had his talent.

He is also responsible for the wheel openings on Donnie Gordons Gold 57 Gasser... Rob made the bucks and hammered them to perfection....
He mentioned he still had the bucks for this gasser wheel openings.....I asked if he was interested in Marketing them and sell a few sets....
typical artist..... shrugged his shoulders, smiled and just said...."Ehhh..."

Anyhow.I am just thrilled about this forward move......

(the pics are not in order)

So. As mentioned..He had not made any support feet as of yet. and by the time I got home. he had the front 2 done!
    I was amazed.......
Random shots of his buck and stuff....

so. of course I ran home.. tore out the tired seat,... called my upholstery guy and and seat is being recovered and fixed in the next 2-3 weeks.....
I have to make the 1/4 window door cards and trunk card(templates) and the package tray card as well....
    Home stretch is in sight.

To be honest.... I have been just driving the car in what's left of the season.... lazy or otherwise..... this has now lit a fire under my butt.

The Galpin '57 Ford gassser is one of my favorites but it would be even better IMHO with radius rear wheel wells like the ones pictured. gasser.jpg 57.png

That is too cool Jeff! That rear tray turned out great!

Oh, and nice safety shoes in that one pic. Seems my kids aren't the only ones that don't always wear OSHA approved footwear. :p

That’s the crowning touch to your already bitchin’ car! No more back seat drivers.
Your friend Rob has some mad skills.
So he made it from a big hammer form buck? Genius!
You could market those, or at least the drawn plan.

Thank you.,.... and Yes,..... Rob does have mad skills.... Obviously these were made from a press when they were factory items.... and that is non obtainable..... so he made a buck and a special end to his hammer.. a nylon end of some sort... and went to town.
He is a black smith as well,. always running his Forge,... and making all kinds of neat things....
For a Lark a few years back he made some killer Hinges and a close latch with is Black Smithing abilities.
He is building an(OT) 55-59 Porsche Speedster at the moment.. with all kinds of one off items(windshield frame, body Panels, etc, etc)
    CRAZY Talent.
