My friend has a 59 AMC wagon. The car has a 62 or 63 motor and the oil pan sits in the way of the tie rod. Does anyone possibly prefab a tie rod that would go under his oil pan to the other side? Thank you
Just search "dropped tie rod ends" Jeep, Willys and others used them . Online or here, we have discussed them MANY times
Just figure out the drop needed, fabricate one out of plate and tube, weld it to the stock tie rod, cut out the original center, and you have a dropped tie rod just like was done in the old days when putting in a front sump mill in a '49 up Ford.
I would modify the oil pan . As early nova II used a tierod that went thru the oil pan when you had a sbc installed
