Event Coverage Loring ME

1. .Landspeed racing started yesterday at Loring Me. Top speed was 247 MPH run by Ron Keselowski. Marci Barker set an record in my old lakester at 114 MPH

 

So no rain then, given the flooding in the NE?

...Maybe if I had spelled her name right, it would have been apparent..

 

It was a fun time and definitely won't be my last!!! I just barely beat her to take the Gas record but then she went even faster to set the record in the Fuel class.

We had a great time at Loring Harvest event as usual. I took the Drury, Fowler, Holmes, Kugel belly tank down the track at 138mph.
I drove the Chevomet, Chevy powered Comet, also. I'm not sure who had the fastest time of the meet but it will be on their website in a few days.

 

Nice! Wasn't aware of LSR in ME. Are you racing on an old airfield? Must be fairly long to allow 250 MPH.

 

It's an old SAC Base. You get timed at the 1 mile and the 1.5 mile with a mile to shut down. We had a bike go 311.
It's a great place to race. Loring Timing Association.

 

Loring AFB was built 1947-1953 as the cloest SAC base to Europe. Was home to B-52s until 1994. So lots of runway.

 

I was there several times to see the racing. It was extra nice as my wife has family in the area.

 

The Loring Timing Association has made up a brochure they'll be handling out soon.
They did w nice job.
