    I may stand corrected...perhaps a plate flips down when the key is turned...crazy insane...I don't think I'd drive it...maybe @anthony myrick would...:D

I'd do the parking lot though...;)

Paging @Motorwrxs did you talk to the owner...did this Coupe drive in from the street with plates or was it trailered?

  2. Looks like the builder might have started with a dwarf race car.
That thing looks cut in every direction.

I knew the pics of the Buicks had questionable wheels… I couldn’t figure out how to shade in the wheels, they were so cool though with the exception of the wheels…

Many a show I visit are filled with on topic till you see under the hood or whats in the wheelwells...so many vintage choices but many minds have moved on...sometimes its economics as restoring or buying vintage in good condition can be costly...

I have to be creative in my angles if a picture is even warranted.

That’s what I tried to do with the two Buick wagons…tried to get the best angle that showed the least amount of wheel. As far as engines go…it was LS galore.

I have never seen so many high quality cars at one show in my life. This show is the one to see or be. They announced a 3 year contract .

To me, the Triple Crown would be a car that's:
    1) Fast
    2) Good looking
    3) Cheap
I've had 2 outta 3 a couple ways, but all 3, that would be my triple crown.

Now I'm baffled - what is a "modern off topic wheel"? Can someone tell me what an example would be? I've never heard of that before.

wheels that were not made in 1965 or earlier. such as weld pro stars, billet aluminum wheels, Centerline wheels ,large diameter modern wheels, cars with narrowed rear ends and wheel tubs with really wide tires (pro street).
This forum focuses on 65 and older cars done in the styles popular in 1965 and older. you can see the rules for the site here: https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/the-h-a-m-b-rules-guidelines.44274/

Thanks for the explanation. I was aware of the rules, but I couldn't imagine what wheels would be on a Buick at that type of show that wouldn't "qualify" under the rules. A Buick would look sort of silly with any of the above that you stated, but I guess different strokes for different folks.

Very cool show. Some really high end hot rods like AMBR winners and contenders. A whole bunch of slick HAMB friendly rides.

I guess this is what Steve Cook (Steve Cook Creations) was talking about when I was talking to him today? He said he just got back from Tennessee and said something about Triple Crown. I have never heard of it until he talked about it today.

Sounds like there was lots of high quality cars there. Thanks for the pics!

From everything I have seen so far, this appeared to be nothing more than and overblown Goodguys show. From these pictures, it appears to be a little bit better than that.

  23. Here are some HAMB friendly ish winners. These are from a FB post. Only the Posies winner was listed
There’s some info on the net if ya look em up.

As you probably already know, last year was the last Shades of the Past show in Pigeon Forge. I was told that the club decided not to pursue another venue after their Dollywood contract expired, and Bobby Alloway and others decided to start something new at the Nashville speedway. A few friends of mine went and they said it looked like it was a huge success.

Found the license plate...in the drivers door. Guessing that may mean it is drivable though?
