Is there anyone in Eastern/Central Iowa or Western Illinois that does gauge repair? Speedos, temp, oil pressure, etc. I would much rather personally drop off than mail. Tia

A few years ago, I personally dropped off a speedometer to get repaired at a Tucson shop....he had it for weeks, never touched it, so I got it back from him.

I mailed a speedometer and tach to Rusty (who's on the HAMB), and he quickly worked on them and sent them back.

Some services are so specialized that it might be worth sending stuff off, if you know for sure the guy doing the work will get it done.

    Good luck.

  4. There is one in Bloomington MN, I will post the info when my wife texts it to me. She worked there in the past.

If it is APT in Bloomington, a buddy of mie dropped off his vintage stewart warner gauges a year ago with a 50% deposit and now can't get them to answer their phone or emails.... The BBB site list them as possibly out of business.....

  6. That may be Chucks place? I know he went through some tough times but I actually talked to a couple customers recently that had good work done by him. I do hope he got/gets things turned around. He and his ex took my wife in when she hit a rough patch after leaving a bad relationship

2 years ago I went to drop off my Buick speedometer at APT. No one there, and a nasty note about someones drinking problem posted on the door. I sent it to D&M Restoration in Greenville SC. Got it back in a couple of weeks and works perfect. Here is their number 864-254-9989

  11. Sad but true. I had hoped the story I got was true. I can tell who wrote the note by the way you described it.

  12. You would probably have a better response if you posted what year and make the gauge is.

Sad, talented people have issues just like the rest of us. Hopefully things get sorted out.
