This past weekend at the triple crown of rodding event my good friend (roncordercustoms.com)debuted his coupe which he has been working on forever and to say the least,the car was a huge success.
It's a work of Art really...I just saw it in another Thread...I didn't believe it was roadworthy...Now I know that is not true now... He did a nice job on it...it's nice to see it sporting drum brakes and other Hamb friendly features... I was truly surprised two people fit in it...pictures truly don't always show actual size well...congrats to your friend...on freaking out the Hotrod world... One of a kind indeed...
Is a Cool Coupe , Nice!!! I just do not see user friendly & if Joy able to dive , It has its place, Change subjects a little bit, in the last few weeks so many complaining about cooling issues I wonder if this coupe has cooling issues?

...Not to hijack but it seems this was inspired by a Darrell Mayabb artwork... It's very much like the Omaha Coupe... The inspiration also reminds me of Weisner works coming to life...so despite its practicality I get the motivation to do such things... @Stu your friend Ron is quite accomplished it seems... The art of many an artist gracing a magazine has been played out in metal more times than we can imagine. Stu, I hope Ron gets on the Hamb as I feel he'd really enjoy it as his like of the good ole days is evident...
I had lunch with ron yesterday and he enjoyed reading all the comments, good and bad, i doubt he'll sign on
Very cool looking car but the question that begs to be asked is can you actually drive and see out of something with that hard of a chop? Or was it meant to be a trailered piece of static art?
I love the passion and commitment something like this takes to see though... The finished product is more art car than hot rod to me. I've always felt that cars should be purposeful and I'm not sure what the purpose of this car is other than just an expressionist form of art. But, who gives a shit what I think? Dude built his car... and that's pretty cool.

The only thing that I could gig it on is the color but that is totally a personal choice. Black, maroon etc for me.....
I think it’s beyond cool but my back hurts at just the thought of getting in and out of it! also, the simplicity of the engine detail is top notch.

I agree it's cool and makes one hell of a matchbox lookin car. But it's got 3 inches of windshield. It's not a realistic car for driving a lot imho. Love it, and it's a piece of art as others have stated. But I wouldn't want to own it personally. I drive my car to work. I'm 6'3 and I highly doubt I could even sit in the thing. Cool for what it is tho.

It was brought up in another Thread it was shared in and was good for reflection that a great number of Hotrods suffer from issues that impact driving safety and even drivability... Practical and Hotrod/Custom generally aren't mentioned in the same sentence as they are purpose built to go fast and look cool... The Omaha Coupe and the Bones Coupes were mentioned in example... Back in the day cars such as the Omaha Coupe and the Pierson and Socal Coupe were likely towed to events but all may have been plated and street driven... I'm sure Ron drives the Coupe selectively much as the other drivers of the others I mentioned did/do... My Coupe is a prime example of a Hotrod that is far from practical...No heat, wipers, front fenders, blind spots, rough ride...but it fulfils the definition and delivers an experience...The presence of Ron's Coupe brought up some back and forth about the why...and gave me some time and reason to reflect... This is of course an opinion I am sharing...
