I had one. Bought it from J C Whitney, it worked for a while. Then quit. It made one heck of a sputtering when being used. As I remember, it took some practice to make the perfect wolf whistle.

I may be a geezer, but not yet a wheezer......sure I've seen 'em and used 'em...that was another
cool item from J.C. Whitney, which was the J.C. Penny of the car world...

Had one on my '51 Chevy pickup I drove in high school. Driving through downtown Iowa City at about 5:30 in the morning (it'd been a really good party) we met a cop and my friend reached over and yanked the knob. Yep, got lit up and a long lecture about disturbing the peace. Come to think of it, that's the same friend that decided to use the door latch to open a beer bottle when there was a cop behind us. Maybe I needed smarter friends.

I saw 'em in the J.C. Whitney catalog in 1957 and passed on them then, too.

I have one I removed from my 49 Chevy sedan. it had the wolf whistle, a 12 volt siren, a "MOO" horn and flame throwers when I got it. they are popular with the Bomb crowd.

When I was in high school, we had the Dukes of Hazzard Horn and the “Mr Microphone”.

I remember the last century. Wolf whistles, Bull horns, Bermuda bells and cut outs. 80 years of remembering. :(

had a scout leader who drove his surplus jeep to campouts. he installed an overdrive so it would go over 50 and put a wolf whistle on it. this was in the late '50s!

  17. That commercial killed any chance of Mr Mic. becoming popular.

  18. Same one a neighbor had on a '56 Dodge. IIRC it was red and had a Hollywood sticker on it.

Last week's old car festival at Greenfield Village, there had to be at least a ½ dozen. Had one on a car I sold last year. Almost kept it but...

Having one and not knowing how to make it work is useless.

My buddies and I had a wolf whistle that we messed around with, but the really fun thing was one of these that we installed on my friends white four-door sedan.

There was an abandoned driveway that intersected the road that we all used to drag race at night. Every once in awhile if, we weren't racing, we'd park my friends car with the lights out. As soon as a couple cars raced past we'd come blasting out with lights flashing and blasting that siren. You can imagine the fear that caused. Gave us a good laugh every time.
