  3. The axle is rad. Norm was showing me a dragster he did, w/ an axle similar, to that rendering

  6. Installing a magnifying lens in the welding helmet, has definitely made a difference. Now that I can clearly see the puddle, fusion welding is quite a bit easier. Practiced on some scrap, before welding on the dzuz pads, to hold the front grille. Continuity has been an issue, in my welds appearance. Feels like today should be Friday.

    El Mirage this weekend!

  7. Flat 3003, to an attached grille shell, of Norms design. Stoked! Made the dzuz pads, attached the springs then drilled and dimpled the holes.

I named the roadster, quick disconnect

  8. Removed everything off the chassis, once again, for better access to the areas still needing to be welded. Working with the different thicknesses has been a great learning experience

  9. I've been hitting this from all angles, tig'ing everything that needed finishing. Once right side up again, Norm wanted to start focusing on the grille, and figuring where the rockers are going to be peeking out, through the grill sides..

  10. Bolted the seat down, again and rechecked center. Then stepped back and eyed whether everything was lined up with the seat back. Then on to machining the bearing ID, to fit the upper steering tube.

  11. Still working on the grille shell and welding up the loose ends on the frame.

  12. I've taken the grill on & off, multiple times. Marked it and filed it, until the torsion rockers have enough 'clarance'. So now all the dzuz fasteners fit and I can fine tune the final shape. 20230627_123444.jpg

Color sanding off the orange peel for the 30A truck.

  13. For the most part, both front fenders are polished. Come morning, I'll get to the front apron, headlite buckets and finish up on the fenders.

  16. Nothing really photo worthy, has been going on, lately.
Here's a pattern similar to the dash I made for my rdstr.

  18. That looks eggzactly like a dash they did in a sportscar inspired T 20 some years ago in SRM

  19. I got the idea from the original 26-7 roadster dashes. I exaggerated everything (that's what I'm mostly known for, anyways)

  25. Welp.. couldn't use the other taillights, as they weren't shallow enough to clear things inside the bed. So he picked up some 50 Pontiacs at my request. Frenching these in, is no bueno.

Went and picked up the steering wheel center, after having it waterjetted (that's a word, now)

  27. That's Norm's favorite part.

I originally made the first piece, that didn't fit, without that upward transition, more like a 32 rdstr. So when I made the second one, I went with this idea, instead. It covers the breather vents, for the gas tank.
