Lol brother I will buy anything you want to drink! I just got off the phone with @atch and we were talking about the itinerary for the weekend. I started thinking that posting pictures of Kentucky bourbon might mislead some guys into thinking that this is just a drunk party, but it's far from that. This is me hosting a bunch of guys that I wanna hang out with and ensuring that no matter who or how many show up, when they leave they're gonna say that it was worth coming, and they'll come back next year!! We're all different, but we all share the same mindset when it comes to these old cars. There'll be guys with a cold beer in their hand, and other guys with a cold grape soda, but we'll all be having a great time. I promise you that much

 

As far as itinerary goes, loosely speaking, the track opens at 5pm on Friday, but Tim is at the track all day getting ready and I'll be there also, so if you get there early, just come on to the track. It's test & tune on Friday nights and most of the time there's a gamblers race if you wanna enter. I know that some of you are camping at the track, and others have rooms in the area, so depending on how road sprung everybody is, we can hang out as late as you guys want. Saturday morning the gate opens at 10. If there's enough interest we'll take a ride like I've mentioned. If you're in your late model ride you can drive it or climb in somebody's old car with them. It'll be a poker run, I'll give you directions to the 3 stops and back to the track, once you get back to the track and get your 5th card, best hand will win $100. Hanging at the track the rest of the day and night, come and go as you please. Sunday we'll have the track to ourselves. There is no racing scheduled. I'm not 100% sure if Tim will be there, but if not, and you guys wanna drag race, we'll have a good old fashioned arm drop race. Until you guys wanna hit the road or what have ya. I've hired a young man that's gonna sing for you guys on Saturday, if we can hear over the drag strip lol. The BBQ truck has shit on me after I already had his name put on the damn shirts but Mrs Ashley is in the talks with the original taco truck lady. And my firefighters union is selling homemade corndogs, plus the track concession stand is open Friday and Saturday. I'll have wash tubs out with cold pop and beer that's free. Lots of tools and prizes to giveaway. Hope you guys can make it out to meet each other. And don't hesitate to call or text me. Hey Brother, do you know how much the cost for spectators will be? Unfortunately, we have to bring Truckdoctor Wife’s daily driver.

 

I think it's $5 on Friday. And I'll put a sticker on your windshield so you don't have to pay to get back in. I'll even give your $5 back if you don't wanna pay lol just trying to help the track for letting us use the property

 

Not making excuses here but I spent the last 3 months not realizing I was slowly getting more and more sick while running the wife back and forth to the multiple doctors she has to use. I was in the hospital all last week so there's not a chance that I can get the A or the Mercury roadworthy in time for your shebang. The daughter and I will load up a bunch of parts and be there Friday for the weekend. Looking forward to it .

Just booked a AirBnB. Coming in Wednesday and leaving Tuesday. Wife is coming so I won't be driving the '40, but it will be there (on the trailer). I will be driving it while there. After Mt Airy, I decided it wasn't quite ready for a road trip. We stayed in Hotel 30 miles away and on way back from show, it poured rain. Car did fine but lights quit working (fuse I believe) and electric wipers quit working.
I am getting excited about being there.

Hi Lloyd, I lost my wallet Saturday evening. Had to shut down two credit cards and two debit cards, not to mention replace my Driver's license and other shit. I'm still planning on coming. I am planning on being there on the 4th of Oct. to help out. If everything is in order then I say one, two, three, four, I declare a thumb war!!!

My son Matt and I will be driving two flatheads and taking our wives from N.E. Ohio on the back roads.
I’d bet My sons new 50 hasn’t been on a prolonged trip for decades. But it’s just another long drive in my 37.
Leaving early Friday and hope to be there mid afternoon. We’ve been preparing for this all summer. Very excited

 

I am still planning on being there. plan to make a drive to the Nada tunnel/Red River Gorge & natural bridge. anyone else have interest in going

I'm sorry that some of the aspects of this has changed along the way, as far as location and me providing the food, but it's hard for me to do some of that when I truly have no idea how many people are gonna show up. There are a lot of factors to consider, I've learned that lol. Having it on my property originally, and I kept hearing that I'm gonna have hundreds of cars show up, so I moved it to a different location, now that's not the case. And if I had bought and prepared for for hundreds and only 55 people showed up, yeah I'd lost my ass lol. So this way you can buy your food, and it's at the drag strip. I was told I should let people know that I wasn't providing a fish fry or a pig roast, so yeah, now you know why lol. If you can't afford food once you get here, come see me

 

I was looking forward to the fish fry, but I will be there anyway.
