Yes thanks Mick...I saw a quite a few familiar faces in my poking through that film...Paul Lynde another...I'm better at faces than names not to mention those being childhood memories of the sixties for me...that film quality was incredible...

...In Aviation there is attitude...in Hotrod there's also attitude...this fine example is all business class...

A rightfully proud Hotrodder...found this at George Klass's site looking for images of Black Panther's latest aquisition...a 38 Chev Gas Coupe...real time capsule...

Almost real???? My first thought was - it is a model. Is that what you mean

When combined with the real life background there are times that you have to take a closer look. There's some pretty convincing modelling going on these days.

Perhaps you focus on things that more quickly let you know its a model such as bolts, wires and details that you visually know well that may be absent. The tires look a little off but I thought maybe they were specials slathered with tire shine. I just had to stare at it a bit to make the same analogy you did albeit you thought it all along.

I think this modeler did quite an admirable job with it. I have a college certificate in 3d Modelling. It's very rewarding but also very challenging. Mike, I know your a long time follower of this Thread...thanks always for your participation and input over the years...Conversation is absolutely part of what makes this one special...;)

I was just looking at my friends HO railroad layout yesterday. I had to leave, it was creeping me out. I had to put on my reading glasses to see the detail. He was pulling the roofs off of buildings to show what was going on inside. When he reached for the out house I left.

...This is a serious/kooky Inspiration of something very real...Hamber @Runnin shine's project is a 34 Tudor with a 32 Ford cowl forward graft using other multiple Ford model details including a Winterfront style grill and a vertical section to shorten the rear quarters along with a radical angle chop...plausibly radical vintage postwar Hotrod indeed. I look forward to his return here to continue on of my most favorite journeys I've been following here...Hope all is okay your way Shine...;)

The infamous LeRoi "Tex" Smith had a passion for budget rodding! His "Junkyard Dawg" roadster with a Pontiac OHC six and his "AMBR" X-R6 with a Dart six just two prime examples of thinking outside the box.

I really can't see worth a shit these days, and I didn't realize that the Hemi Bugatti isn't real. Good inspiration though I think for something along those lines.

    No wires and stuff.
No wonder it struck me as looking extra "clean".

Cool...I guess LeRoi and AK got along pretty well both uniquely diverse in the big picture in Hotrod...When did he build the JD...I'm always surprised not to see more of those OHC's in Hotrods...good on him

No shame there Ricky...like I said I was hummin and hawwing on it too...It's truly great for concepts thats for sure...but making that is an enormous challenge...

I remember this one Twenty8...again back-dropped with the real deal...makes it tougher to distinguish...again just as they make stuff from Drawn concepts 3D can be a driver as well...the kicked out/suicide front axles are not a new thing...Mike bowling ran that on his A Coupe...I've also seen several vintage examples...

In the early days of his "Hot Rod Mechanix" of '88-'92, the "Junkyard Dawg" was the "$ a Pound" project ....later finished when he went to "American Rodder" magazine.

I saw some models a guy did & he also made the scenery. I really could not tell until he pulled back and showed the whole thing. Everything was amazing. I'll try to find a link.

No hate here...what was the bitchen about...fake race identifiers?

My thoughts are in one way the body from the hood back looks hand fabbed in a primitive way where the hood forward looks more finessed...or it just represents a fully crafted vintage Missile.

I like it...furthermore if JimmyB puts his stamp on it that further lets me know I've made a positive decision...he knows his vintage hotrod.

The body actually has the plain lines of a Chevy of that era...is it?...I can see one picking up the loose panels in a pile and putting the puzzle back together quick and with a tweak or two here and there...

    Fire up some more @OLLIN...;)
