Gallon of gloss black Rustoleum is only $48.48 at Home Depot and a good 3" China bristle brush is only $18.47;)

Majic hardener, works great :). Wait a minute, buy a dozen 2" chip brushes and 2 cases of some kind of beer other than Lite and we can have a paint party at Lloyds ;).
Edit: What was I thinking? Four cases of beer and a quart of moon.

Barracuda! What kind of Barracuda do you have? We need details.

  11. It’s a ‘65. There are other posts on this thread about it. It’s mostly probably off topic to I didn’t start a dedicated thread on it.

Love the 65 Barracuda. Friend has a 273 HiPo car, great body style. As a fellow 65 Plymouth owner, good luck with it. Let me know if you are looking for anything, I have some good A-Body sources.

Didn't know John Deere ever made motorcycles! :p

  15. Up until 1959, Harley and John Deere shared the same number of cylinders!!

  16. Mocking up the Eelco tank on the Henry J, just about got it dialed in where I want it, think I'll dig out more bar stock and bend up a lower bar to catch the front feet, run it parallel to the back then taper down to the bottom of the front crossmember.

I spent the first couple days this week first buying then swapping engines after this happened last Saturday and made a big mess... I have decided I am not a fan of beehive valve springs.

Pretty sure valve spring broke, then valve dropped, then exploded piston all over the engine while trying to make its way out of the block...

Well I went to bleed the brakes on our 64 Elco with plans to go to a show for the first time since 2020 saturday wich turned into making 2 new lines, new calipers, shoes & Juuuust finished that up 10pm tonight. My neighbor is going to help me bleed them in the morning. Yall say a hot rod prayer the rear stock drums are good as I havent even had time to bust those open yet.
This is one of the only cars we bought "done", & from a fellow Hamber... Pops flew from TX to LA to buy it in Hollywood and drive it home. (With stage 4 cancer) Unfortunately it wiped a cam lobe before it ever made it out of So Cal. I had Ben D haul it home for us.
Including the motor I've had to redo everything Ive touched except the paint and seat covers. Dad passed in 2020 and left it to my wife. I've made it my goal to make this car the best it can be using the skills Pops taught me. Thats why Id rather buy a field car and do it all myself right the first time then assume a "finished" car. Oh well no complaints, all part of hot rodding right ?!!
At least I got it done.. Here's some pics of the old parts for the TLDR folks..Turns out its 69 Chevelle discs up front.. If no leaks on the bleeding tomorrow I'll pop some Cragars and whitewalls on and get a proper pic.
    Yall wish me luck ! 20230918_215139.jpg 20230918_212605.jpg

  24. Good luck, this Henry J has been trying my patience with line leaks, I can't remember ever having one I built have so many hard to cure leaks, from trans lines to fuel lines to now brake lines.
Couple days ago I was trying to bleed them with that vacuum pump type self bleeder system, sucked the reservoir dry twice chased a couple leaks, pressurized the system pumping the pedal and found a couple more leaks. I sure thought I had the lines tight enough, had a friend come over and he pumped the pedal while I bled them the old fashion way, found a couple more leaks, I really strong-armed them after that.
Today I go out and was going to get the front off the jack stands and I noticed a small dribble from the back of the master cylinder, wtf, I'm hoping it was just from an over filled reservoir, I'll see tomorrow if I have to replace the master cylinder or not, crazy shit !

  25. I'd say a gallon of paint FIVE cases of beer, and finger-paint that bitch during Lloydfest!!! Just sayin'...

  26. Chasing leaks can drive a guy nuts... been there, gone nuts, didn't even get a fucking tee shirt!!
One thing I've learned on brake lines is to NOT crank down while making the second flare bend..... leave it just a tad "unflared" and finish it when you install it. That makes the flare conform to the mating part, not the cone on the flaring tool. Too late to help you now, but for future reference...

  27. More work on the tank brackets

Well back to my previous post turns out the rear wheel cylinders on our Elco were worn slap out too...go figure. So after I fixed that mess, dropped my son w Grandma it ended up being a 3am fri night finishing it all up. Decided to swap the Cragars off our wagon for the rallies that were on it. All in all the car ran great @ 80-90 and stopped as it should have. Met up w a few of my
Old Souls club brothers and @RMONTY & went to our first show since 2019. Had a blast, saw some cool cars (I'll share pics tomorrow.) Thanks for yalls support, I think the hot rod prayers worked ! Here it is midnight and we're home safe & sound. Couple pics my buddies took for me, cause we all LOVE pics ! IMG_2758.jpg IMG_7146.jpg
