Winter project will include putting a hood on the 1930 NOT side panels. I have seen some different solutions to keeping it in place. Leather straps aren't my style and I have even seen some use Bunji cords. I don't anticipate needing to remove it very often if at all but it needs to be properly engineered consistent with the rest of the car. I would be very cool to have it "open" at shows. Anyone solve this is a great way? I appreciate your insight. -John

I used a 32 one piece hood that was shortened to fit the opening on my 1931 A roadster but I suspect this could be done with an A hood as well. I raised the side accent lines to match the A body line. I then added stock model A hold downs to the lower edge and a tab coming off the radiator shell. There is a pin in the rear center of the hood which matches with a hold down on the cowl. It's been 65 mph and is pretty solid actually.

However, I'm going to fabricate tabs for the hood and spring rods. There's a great post here on the HAMB about it.
