@titus, it seems that you have been in contact with Gary Farsund sometime in recent history, so I have to ask : do you know if he was originally from the Wayzata, MN area? When I was a kid, I lived across the street from a guy of that name, and he was a "motorhead" back then. I was a year younger than he was, and I remember that his step-father bought him a new Pontiac Chieftain 2 DR hardtop in 1958. I lost track of him after high school, but I seem to remember someone telling me he was still into cars later. Hs older brother, Russ, was responsible for my interest in old Fords, as he always seemed to have one, usually a '36, around. I remember helping him pull an engine out of one when I was about 12. There was a big tree in the front yard, and with the block and tackle we used, was the quintessential fifties car scene. It's really not that important, but I would really like to know if it was the same guy and if he is still around. Plus, I like to tie up loose ends.
@titus, That's the guy and the car I remember. It was of a lavender hue and had the base engine. That picture was taken in the driveway of his house. The big tree on the very right edge of the picture was in our front yard. Thanks for posting the picture, it brings back a lot of memories. A quick "Google" search finds him still around and living in the area.
From the "Likes" my post have received, I starting to think that I took this thread off-topic enough to cause it to change direction. This was never my intention, and I apologize to @titus for doing so. Let's get this thread back to where it should be, about this beautiful and historic "Gasser".
Fantastic. So fortunate the original front clip was found. You should buy a case of 1/25 scale Willy's model kits and build every livery version of the car.
A few more pics have show up the last coupe weeks, Does anyone recognize the tower? im not sure where this one was at but around 1969 i believe above taken at minnesota dragways above was also taken at Mn dragways im not sure where this one was taken but a cool one with the Inch Pincher VW hauler next to it.
