    hi y'all
before i ask todays question, i'd just like to say that i can't imagine working on this project without this forum. being a novice, it seems i have a new problem/question everyday and without fail, i find the answers here so thanks to all the folks who take the time to read and these answer questions.
so todays question deals with motor mounts. i'm working on my 1951 shoebox that i bought without a motor and trans. i have a 8BA flathead that i want to install. i've attached 2 pics. one is of the car and the motor mounts that came with it, the other is of the engine mounted on a stand. the engine mounts are on or part of Unknown.jpeg IMG-3316.jpg the water pump and look like they won't mount to the mounts on the car crossmember. so the question is do i need to change the water pumps or is there a different mount i can buy to use the pumps i have? speedway motors has a mount, listed as a 1949-1953 ford/mercury frame adapters for $40.00 that looks like the ticket but, i'm not sure. also, they happed to be back ordered and before i pull the trigger i want to make sure i'm getting the right part.
so again, thanks for any and all replies. cheers!

The mounts on your engine are truck pumps. You need 1949 car pumps which are wide belt like the truck pumps you have.. Repop car pumps are readily available from a variety of sources. First of all you need to change the water pumps to the ones for the cars and then pick up a set of motor mounts from NAPA or Dennis Carpenter and it’s a simple bolt in. I think the transmission mount is different from the 6 cylinder but the crossmember is the same (I think). And the radiator is different and will sit further back into the engine bay because the 8 is shorter than the 6

What? Looks like stock 51 mounts to me, no holes were added. OP needs to change the pumps or post a pic of Speedway adapters

Actually, the adapters from Speedway would work with your present pumps if they conform to the old Hurst system. However, going back to the stock 8BA configuration is really the only way to go.

(You'd have to replace those modified "Hockey Pucks" with regular '37-'48 Ford mounts, though.)

Sorry, I thought I deleted that. I had a moment of rectocranial inversion. You're right, of course.
