Advance Stores had one store in Lynchburg, Virginia and two stores in Roanoke, Virginia at that point in time. The biggest expansion period came for Advance Auto Parts in 1998. Interesting!! The Pep Boys "auto parts" 2 blocks from my house closed during the scamdemic...but only the "auto parts" dept., The service area still open to this day is Pep Boys.
The former Pep Boys "auto parts " is now Advance Auto Parts...Sadly, Advance has remained closed since the scamdemic.

 

There isn't an Auto Zone within a mile of the former Pep Boys, now Advance Auto
