I know nothing about the toxicity of Hydrazine, but I talked at length to Jim Miles at an Early Times picnic a few years ago. They had the beginning of the Fiat restoration on display, and he lamented the fact that the old parts he needed were hard to find and cost way more than when he originally built the car. He also said that the reason for the catastrophic engine failure was cracks in the main webs that they noticed but decided that they weren't that bad and they would chance going another round. At least that's what he told me. I don't think it had anything to do with hydrazine. I think the engine failure was after the hydrazine era.

. . . I'm not sure -- but I think those were the days when it was FREE. And I think it sometimes covered the push vehicle.

THE Dean Lowe? Well now, he's just got to tell us all about it. There's some info out there about his RPU but I didn't know he dabbled in Studebakers....

Dean Lowe has been a seriously successful racer for decades. I'd loved to drain his brain for a day or two.

He had a violent crash, and was lucky to walk again, and we are lucky to have him on this board !
