looks like Texas...the pavement is smooth and got a 25 mph headwind st 12:00... barely got them both feed lots

 

stopped by the XIT Museum some kind of broadcaster pulled behind a tractor....

 

Can't have a road trip without being stopped for road construction....it was a long wait another train...lots of intermodal cars all the wind turbines were parked...I guess the cooler weather reduced the demand

 

destination state....had to adjust up the fuel pressure a half of psig to 2.5...the engine was starving for fuel at full throttle against the headwind
Seems like that cured it...sure get lots of 'curious helpers' when you raise the hood on an old car in the parking lot of a travel center....

 

not much going on in Goodwell OK

 

a couple of guys chased me down to see the car and tell me all about theirs...and that they had four inches of rain a couple of days ago...glad I missed it how come this isn't in my neighborhood so I can have a ready made proper shop made it to Gymon...going to catch a bite....see you in the morning for the second leg...

Love that Dalhart Transfer picture. Living in a place in OK where the nearest neighbor was 3 miles away and the county road crews never got to, my old man found a s****er like the one in the picture. He hooked it up to an Allis Chalmers WD45. I drove the tractor, he operated the s****er, and we had the smoothest road anywhere around.

unlike! Man, that stinks!!!! Looks like over all the trip is going well. That was quite a haul yesterday! We leave in the morning and should be in town early afternoon.

edit: you posted as I was typing. Glad you have the fixit supplies on the way...and it looks that this isn't the first time this has happened. LOL

 

made it to May OK..
..it took 9.8 gallons for an 11 gallon tank....top down weather
